Has anyone else seen this video on JW Broadcasting?
by NikL inso i was checking out the website to see what the february broadcast was all about before i watched it with my jw wife.. on the front page was this video.... https://tv.jw.org/#en/video/vodbible/pub-jwbai_201607_1_video.
i watched it and pretended i had never been a jw.. if you pretend you don't understand their particular language it makes for a interesting (if not vague) watch.. btw i've seen several of the actors before.
jw version of movie stars?

Oh...another point. I hope this boy becomes an MS by the time he is 23 years old. After that, he is not good marriage material (says Tony Tight pants Morris).

Just the title alone is disturbing, God is aware of the secrets of the heart. In other words..."you are being watched!"
The FOG Method...Fear, Obligation and guilt. And we wonder why so many JW's are on anti depressants and the Bethelites are known for the drinking issues. Watching this video just confirms that my spouse and I made the 100% right decision leaving this cult.

My Story
by WeatherLover ini'm a 4th generation jw.
i started to realize it wasn't the truth over 2 years ago in late october/early november 2014. i don't know how exactly it happened.
i remember i had just heard about confirmation bias, and it hit me: i realized that i would be guilty of confirmation bias if i didn't look at the other side.

" I am overly empathetic when it comes to not upsetting my family, I really can't stand the thought of bringing my mom to tears. "
Welcome. Your statement above shows how much you care for your family.
It's amazing how WT has the family to use as emotional blackmail. It should never happen. One should never have to make that choice. If there wasn't the shunning and DF'ing, you know there would be a mass exit.
Move slow and like Simon said..."do what is best for YOU". Unfortunately, there is no easy way to get out of this cult.

2017 Circuit Assembly: Lesbians at school demonstration
by darkspilver insteve2: is there some way this can be presented so that it is crystal clear what was actually in the demonstrations and what was added?
i guess some will think it should be obvious - but this is where misunderstandings arise because we end up wrongly attributing something to jw organization that was never said.. circuit assembly theme: maintain love for jehovah!.
note to speaker: warmly encourage young ones to prove their friendship with jehovah by observing his commandments and defending his standards.

"I reject homosexual conduct, not people."
Bullsh*t! They don't reject people? They will reject you for picking up a cigarette or simply deciding you no longer want to be a JW. What do you think they would do if you came out as gay? All this cult does good is REJECT. Karma's gonna get em!

"The theme sounds a little bit desperate!"
Music to our ears...WT is desperate. Karma, it typically catches up to most. Karma is coming for WT. Lots of smiles here.

I found the running funny too. Ironic. I think they should rename to convention, "PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T LEAVE."

Good for you Rebelfighter. You sound a lot like me. I fight fire with fire and can fling sh*t back. ha ha
"I am from a generation where we just hid what went on in the home." My Dad (Elder) never told us what went on the the congregation. If he was in a Judicial Commitee, he would sometimes say, "all that glitters is not gold." Meaning, what appears on the outside, maybe something you would never expect.
My Dad was an Elder (he was kind and compassionate). I just could never figure out why he would not go to bat for me. Now that I have experienced life a little more and know more about the JW cult, I know that the position of Elder identifies some. Some choose it over their own families. He is deceased now and I cherish his memory. I guess I just have to let it go even though it perplexes me.

It sickens me that the Elder father did nothing to report this to the authorities. I am now a grown woman and some things were done to me as a kid that I to this day don't understand (not in a sexual nature). It has had a big impact on my life. My dad really did nothing, he was an Elder as well. If what happened to me, happened to my kids, heads would roll. My Dad was a great guy but I really had to fight my own battles as a kid. My dad is deceased, so I can't ask him. I believe it had to do with keeping his position in the congregation. It's hard to believe someone would do this but it happens. The kid is the one who suffers.

"I'm am surprised she qualified as a regular pioneer and still going to college."
It's all about who you know in the org. Some Bodies of Elders turn the other way and others are Elder Nazi's. Some bodies of elders will DF ones for years and others will be out for 6 months. We have seen that happen. It is what happens when you put men in charge of judging others. Men with NO holy spirit.
