Great post. So this guy was shunned for getting married? NICE! WT calls these things done to the rank and file "injustices", we call them pure 100% abuse. Most in WT land just don't get it and never will. If these ones want to remain in Jahs org (cult), let em. I choose not to participate in it anymore. What a relief it has been!

I am a firm believer in Karma. I have witnessed it over and over in my lifetime. People who hurt others eventually get caught. They get comfortable with getting away with it and eventually slip up. It's coming for WT. WT will never go away. They are re branding but their past is coming back to bite em (i.e. denying 1975 was ever promoted by WT). There are recordings of these talks and they are online. Kim and Mike have a new You Tube with all the recordings (at the end of their You Tube). WT can run but can't hide.

Yep...if your not a JW, they will do nothing for you. When we were still in they would do nothing for you. If you're not an Elder, CO, pioneer, beth-hell or someone who can do nothing for WT you are pretty much invisible. Can you just feel the love?

Unfortunately, you will never change some of these people. They will never see things YOUR way . We have tried this with some family members. You will always be the bad guy. We don't even try with our families anymore. We figure, if people don't want to be a part of our family, that is their loss. Good riddance to em.

Far and away the best video I have seen explaining cults

it does not mention jws, but perfectly aligns with them.
it is put in a manner that would make some understand why jws are considered a cult.

Baby update and quick hello.

my last post mentioned that we lost twin b at 17 weeks but twin a is doing well so far.
we are 25 weeks tomorrow and a week past the point of viability so we are starting to get really exited for this new adventure in our lives.

and uses things that are not even part of the so-called "sign" (abortions, pollution).
then proceeds to ridicule the "ridiculers," stereotype them, and declare they are only fit for destruction!.

Why is the approval of family so important?
by jwfacts inone of the reasons people remain pimo is fear of losing family.
those that are disfellowshipped and shunned regularly comment about how devastated that they have lost the approval of their parents.. when i respond to emails from people saying how difficult it is being estranged or looked down on by their parents, i would like to say that over time they will come to terms with it, except i not sure that people ever do.
i cannot shake that feeling either.

That is a great point. Even though we ourselves have been scarred and hurt, we can give our kids the things we may not be receiving....like unconditional love. They will thank us for that one day.
I apologized to my kids a couple of years back. I told them that I hope we didn't screw them up too badly. One child said, "mom, I'm doing fine." That is all I needed to hear.

We are all hard wired to want to belong, more so from the very people who gave us life. Every person born wants to be accepted, especially by their parents.
The shunning that WT promotes is a despicable practice. This is one thing that can really mess up a person. When my spouse and I decided to make our exit, it was due to observing how others treated a family member who was DF'd. It was one of the saddest and cruel things we witnessed. How the hell is someone supposed to receive any help they need in life if we just kick em out and never speak to them?
I could never do it to my children. I have too much love for them. I couldn't live with myself.
This practice is is barbaric and in my opinion should be on the list of a hate crime.
Via the internet, WT is showing it's true colors. With all of the propaganda videos, showing the rank and file what WT believe is a "loving arrangement", WT is letting the public know what kind of organization it is. If it continues the way it has been, I believe you will see more and more people make their exit. Ones who decide to remain may leave once their Elderly parents pass away. We have wondered how many remain, waiting for their parents to pass.
It breaks my heart to hear ones on this site who miss their parents and have to live with their disapproval. This should NEVER happen to anyone. NEVER! WT has a lot to answer for.
