my brother got married to a woman who was wild and selfish.

he married her and about a year later she got pregnant.
Uh yeah...run like hell from that situation.
I have a sibling that is a train wreak, she is no longer welcome in my home or life. She is a lying, manipulative and would use and steal from her own grandma. She is married to a man just like her.

PE...that is fantastic news! I am so happy for you. Now you can re connect with your brother. I think that is the best news I've heard on here in a long time. You are right, not only are they running the rank in file into the ground but the most uber are leaving too. Wow!
I agree with your brother. My spouse and I feel so much better once we exited the cult. Our alcohol bill has subsided by a large number. Now...I enjoy my occasional drink, I don't need it to get through the meetings, assemblies, service, etc.

i’ve been hearing from several very reliable sources that there will be an exclusive elite gala entertainment event hosted by the watch tower organization, featuring specially chosen jehovah’s witnesses of outstanding talent as well as spiritual reputation, at the sony centre (formerly called the o’keefe centre) in toronto, ontario (canada) as a special “after hours” addition to the 2017 special international convention.. those chosen have to meet very strict criteria, including, not so much technical and popular talents, but, rather, their spiritual maturity which can be easily and practically related to by the audience (i.e., degree of conformity – you know what i mean!).
a notable and very well-known professional “super star” from some other country (i don’t know which one) who has achieved highly recognized and popular talent was surprisingly not chosen to participate in the extra entertainment program, whereas other performers with rather ho-hum musical abilities ended up being selected, ostensibly for their altruistic and “theocratic” qualities.
(something tells me that there is going to be some jealousy and indignant, hard feelings over this rather authoritarian, arbitrary selection process.
I don't have a problem with the JW's enjoying themselves. The problem I have with it, is they only invite the elite JW's. These events are ticketed events that the pioneers, Elders and special delegates receive. There is a hirarchy in this organization. The little ole sister who can not physically pioneer anymore, but put years of service in, gets NO invitation. The publisher that puts what WT calls "token service" in, gets no invitation. Maybe that person has long work hours or multiple jobs to support their family. These ones are not even considered. That is my problem. No matter what WT claims, they like there uber JW's and those in the borg who have money. Everybody else is just a "token JW." That's the problem with these events. It's a huge problem within this borg. And they wonder why people are walking away.
i left the religion back in 2008 right after my mother died,( the total lack of natural love/ affection was the final straw for me).. but my dad has become more and more focused on doing the wt bidding.. it just amazes me how he gushes on and on about the last days, his new bible studies, and meeting parts .
but yet he makes no effort to have any type of relationship with his grandkids, there are 5 of them , non are witnesses.
they are the children from several different sisters of mine, and myself.. so how do you deal with the witness stuff always being presented in conversations?.
Yes, our family complains constantly that non JW family members never contact them yet they never reach out themselves. Our JW family has all the problems yet non JW family have none? Really? The non JW's still have the everyday problems JW's have, JW's just dismiss them.

if a speaker came in wearing anything but white they were brought into the library and were given a white shirt!

They all have their little soap boxes. One Elder had a fixation with sitting in the front rows at the KH, so he would shove all the back seats forward so no one could sit there. I loved that one when my kids were small. Always fun to sit up front with a whiny 2 year old. Asshats!

It happened in the US in 2014 in Atlanta. They worshipped the delegates.. It was believable to see how regular JW's where treated like Royalty.

i was pretty young in 1975, all i remember was a few complaining at the hall after and those at the door that razed us over it.
does anyone remember how they went about denying it and when this started.
i do remember a scripture in psalms about people being mighty and living longer so this was used.

i wanted to take a moment to give a quick baby update.
my last post mentioned that we lost twin b at 17 weeks but twin a is doing well so far.
we are 25 weeks tomorrow and a week past the point of viability so we are starting to get really exited for this new adventure in our lives.

Great post. So this guy was shunned for getting married? NICE! WT calls these things done to the rank and file "injustices", we call them pure 100% abuse. Most in WT land just don't get it and never will. If these ones want to remain in Jahs org (cult), let em. I choose not to participate in it anymore. What a relief it has been!
