Thank you for the info. When I used to go to Cleveland years ago, They would have 3 - 6 weeks of conventions with over 12 - 15,000 each. Now I see they only have 3 scheduled for this year. "Don't Give Up!" Looks like many already have!

Becoming a jw actually made me a much more worldly person.
by lancelink ini was raised a catholic from birth to age 15, that's when my dad started to study with some jw's that came to our door.
i was too young/ naive to notice how my lifelong friends were slowly being replaced with so called " outstanding spiritual youths".. anyway, there was randy and kevin, the sons of the po from the hall, everyone thought that they were the most spiritual people i could hang out with.
these guys taught me the fine points of :.

I agree. Some of the witness kids I grew up with were in more mischief than the kids at school. Smoking pot and drinking were big ones. I never got involved with pot. Too much of a good girl. In WT land it's all about appearances.

Weekly Scripture Twist - aka the Watchtower Study
by doubtfull1799 in“more than material assistance, refugees need spiritual and emotional support.
(matt.
4:4) elders can help by obtaining literature in the language of the refugees and by helping them contact brothers who speak their language.

"Let those hungry refugees chomp down on a few magazines and tracts. That'll help em! "
We found out when we were still in that these asshats won't assist you in good times. How the hell are they going to help you in difficult times? They can't even encourage you verbally, much less physically.
Ask a JW to help you move or float you a couple of bucks and you'll see them burn rubber out of the parking lot. We actually experienced this first hand. It pushed us to continue our search in "something is just not right." Now we know "what is just not right."

Stupid is as stupid does. Some are so desperate to maintain that WT acceptance. It defines everything they are. These are the ones WT wants. Gullible and desperate for acceptance.

Stonewalling and the Governing Body
by UnshackleTheChains inwhy do the gb stonewall individuals with legitimate questions.
for example, they refuse to speak to investagative journalists like trey bundy, unless they happen to get caught somewhere walking about in the street by chance.. i remember the panorama documentary 'suffer the little children' where the presenter tried to arrange an interview with one of the gb.
i can't remember if the gb either refused or simply didn't reply.

One word...cowards. They wrote all kinds of info on Russia but nothing about the Australian Royal Commission. They don't want to be caught off guard. GB member Jackson did enough damage when he made his presumptuous statement. WT doesn't want that to happen again. They don't want the rank and file to see behind the curtain. Too bad for WT that people are looking behind it anyway.

"The good far outweighs the bad."
Sorry...I respectfully have to disagree. I have always told my spouse, "when there's more wrong than right in the org, I'm outta there." Don't knock it til ya try it. Lol Much much happier and content than ever.

In WT land you have instant "friends." These "friends" will drop you like a bad habit as soon as you don't tow the WT line. Not worth it!
