Special Bethelite Speakers
by JW_Rogue ini've noticed that some elders will insist on getting a special bethel speaker for memorials, special talks, or sometimes for no reason at all!
i believe they are trying build connections they can use later, but who pays for it?
the congregation does and as a former account servant i can tell you airfare isn't all that cheap.

To Fade or Disassociate
by Jules Saturn inhello to all, so i did want to talk about this topic because i think it is very important to me.
i have a grandfather who faded several decades ago.
he occasionally attends an assembly and the memorial but no longer attends meetings or goes on field service.

We stopped going 4 years ago. When we were contacted by the Elders we told them we were doing fine and if we needed them, we know their phone number. When they come to your home, you don't have to answer the door. If you do answer, tell them you are fine and know how to contact them. If they push it, firmly tell them that you do not want to discuss anything with them. You don't owe anyone an explanation. It's a private matter. Be firm and strong with strong eye contact. If they know they can intimidate you, they will. The less you talk, the better. If they happen to DF you and anyone asks why, tell them you were DFed because you have missed meetings. If you want to DA, do it but be real about the consequences. You will loose family and "friends." Keep us posted.

Great post. You should be so proud of what you have accomplished. I am sure you worked very hard for what you have. You wrote so much that needs to be said. Thank you.
I would love to be a fly on the wall if that asshat brother who mocked you came into the ER, needing your skills. Oh the smile on your face would be priceless.

Like everyone said above....it depends on who it is. If you've been out awhile and they have forgotten about you or are just too lazy and don't care, you can probably get away with it. It's the Nazi Elders you have to watch out for. We have one out after us. These ones will try and engage any other Nazi elder that will join them. Watch your back if you don't want to be DFed. If you don't care....celebrate away!

Geoffrey Jackson: "That would be presumptuous of us"...
by Calebs Airplane inwithin the first few minutes, mr. stewart asked geoffrey jackson if the members of the governing body consider themselves to be god's spokesperson on earth.. his response: "that would be presumptuous of us" (implying that they don't consider themselves to be god's sole channel of communication).. to me, that was the worst lie of about 26 lies he's told during this hearing.
however, mr. stewart missed an opportunity to call out mr. jackson on this bold-faced lie.
he should have asked him to explain why the watchtower magazine teaches otherwise.

His answer was beautiful. It was all being taped for all to see. The more the GB is exposed, the more people are waking up. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK WT!

Are Bethelites Buying and Preparing their own Food?
by TakeOffTheCrown insamuel herd made the following statement at the 2015 annual meeting regarding the reduction of services at bethel.. we will be reducing personnel at bethel.
some bethel family members will be invited to serve in the field.
in addition to their regular work, bethel family members will be caring for many of the services that were previously provided by fellow bethelites.. .

The GB doesn't want anyone seeing their beautiful apartment over looking the beautiful lake. They know they live high off the hog but just don't want any rumblings going on about them. They have enough bad press. The natives are getting restless. Lol

Jehovah's people are not happy people
by Phoebe ini finally stopped attending the meetings about 4 months go.
i won't be going back - ever.. but i've decided the best reply to the watchtower is to be happy and i do try to be happy every day even thought i wasted my entire life on this religion.
i cherish every day, practice mindfulness and do my best to be content with the life i have.. it is only now that i see that most jws i know are deeply unhappy people.

The majority of our still in family are on anti depressants as well. They all look spaced out and kind of like the Stepford wives. Crazy!

JW's are like kids. Their parents constantly remind them of the trip they will take them on, to Disney World. The trip NEVER comes. The kids no longer believe the parents and have lost any confidence they may have had in their parents.
I believe the generation teaching blew the wind out of the older ones sails. The Governing Body had an opportunity during the Zone talk a few years ago, to encourage the flock. They chose to discuss tight pants spanxs and men not being good marriage material if they are not MS's by the age of 23 years.
There are so many JW's who are suffering sickness, financial woes and family problems. I'm sure the members could have used some true encouragement. The GB chose to beat ones down instead of using the opportunity to build up. WT has done its own damage to the flock and has A LOT of blood on their hands! Shame on them!
We wonder why so many are leaving and are on anti depressants.
