i’m curious how many people believe in god?

i’m not interested in debating why you shouldn’t have a belief in a god or should.

9 days to go until i hand my d'a letter in.

its extremely short, as in one sentence long.

Watchtower is probably going broke on laundry detergent for the pillow cases. "Son of a bit*h, we can't get the stains off the actual pillows." lol Maybe WT will make a special fund set aside, "the pillow fund. You can just drop your donation in the Worldwide Work box, we'll spend the money where we see fit." How many times have we heard that line?

So I guess all the honest folks at Bethel lied on the application. "No...we do not masturbate." So much for honesty in the house of God. Shouldn't the Governing Body have to step down? They can not lead in a fine manner with this going on under their own roof! Tsk tsk!!!

i wanted to ask everyone here , what was your trigger to waking up ?

i have been waking up for a long time , but in looking back it’s hard for me to look at one event and say “ ah ha “ , i think mine is like a slow leak - like a crack in a damn - and then hold on , because after that it’s just a flood of information.

this is my first post to this site, im pale.emperor's brother:).

first of all, i've left being a jw in june.

since then my family have tried to convince me it's "the truth" and force me to go back even though it's my own decision.

ken cook was announced today at morning worship as the new member of the governing body.

i dont recall him from the broadcasts, but he was formally a helper on the writing committee as per https://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/governing-body/.

The "Imperfect Men" Argument

one of the most common "defences" of jw organization is that "the brothers" are imperfect yet still strive to follow god's word.

"sure, they make mistakes," so the argument goes, "but so did god's people in the past, including in bible times.

" the key point is their readiness to keep studying god's word and learning from their mistakes.".

So they are imperfect and we have to accept that?

When a member of the congregation is sitting in front of 3 "imperfect men" at their judicial committee and they are getting raked over the coals, does WT sweep it aside as the member is "imperfect" and they accept that? NOPE! The congregation member is grilled for in depth details of the so called "sin." Once they decide your fate, you are publicly humiliated again in front of the entire congregation with your name mentioned. Whether it is DF'ing or public reproof. Everything in WT land flows one way, Watchtowers way!
