  The Privilege of Handling the Microphones

  one of the most unbelievable privileges that a brother could have was being a microphone handler.

  elders would discuss brothers for hours and see whether or not we would allow them to mow the lawn or handle a mike.

  i always felt that these brothers were doing us a favor but if they didn't get a minimum of 10 hours in per month, they were dog crap and couldn't have any privileges.

  My spouse is an electrician and VERY good at sound equipment. Because he was short a few hours, they took him off the sound and he was not allowed to hold a mic. He was also not allowed to pray or read the WT. The PO did not like my husband.

  There was a mid week meeting when no one showed up to run the sound. Guess who they came to? It amazes me that these people have NO shame!

  Well, long story short, this is just ONE of the shitty things this cult did to him. The old saying, "the beatings will continue until morale improves" comes to mind. This cult gets you one stab at a time.

  Thank you WT and all you loving JW's for showing us the way OUT the door! Best thing that EVER happened to us!!

  Will The Governing Body's Shunning Policy Backfire On Them Eventually?

  we all can agree that the disfellowshipping arrangement benefits the wt corporation by keeping the indoctrinated in servitude, make members afraid to doubt the corporation's teachings and explanations because they can be disfellowshipped for saying anything negative about the corporation or it's ceos or not agreeing with some new light.. but what about negative effects caused by the harsh use of disfellowshipping to the corporation, what could they be?

  Oh yes!!! I think it IS backfiring on WT. Look at all of the news reports about not only the child abuse issues but how people have been treated. Some ex rank and file members are PISSED. There are the ones doing the YouTube videos and cart crashing. People are NOT taking it anymore! I believe WT is VERY worried, as it should be. It's comin for ya WT!!! Karma is a bitch!!!

  i found my old when i mean old po it was when i was in the congregation he was po of in 1989 and earlier from the 70s.

  i posted is this the insert name here, that was po of my old congregation?

  how does it feel to have lived so long and now you are dying and the end still is not on the horizon?

  We had a PO like that. A real ass. I'd like to say some of the things you said but he died last year. He was waiting "for the end" also. His "end" finally came!!!

  i always understood that this procedure was ok for jehovah's witnesses.

  but the subject came up during pioneer school.

  If anything, WT sure knows how to spin things to make it look like, "rich blessings from Jehovah."

  If most rank and file members were told that the "kool aid will refresh you and bring blessings from Jah", they would drink it up in record time.

  convention in lowell mass june 15-17 2018...about 4500 in attendance...11 baptized (0.24%)...believe about 6 of those were kids of current jw's..

  my dad died a couple years back (not how you thought this would start, i know).

  he was an elder, and a very emotionally abusive father, well before the point where he ever shunned me.

  he died pretty much penniless, and never would buy life insurance or anything.
