  The lack of love within the org and the hypocrisy.

  My spouse read Crisis of Conscience. That was it. Once you learn TTATT, it was over for us.

  Why do some JWs love seeing others get disfellowshipped?

  i'm not sure how many in the organization is like this, but there some jws who love seeing others get disfellowshipped, and my father-in-law is one of those.

  he became a jw because he loved the idea of being the head of the household, and lording it over his family.

  as a jw he is very hypocritical, my husband would tell stories of how they would celebrate christmas until his mother-in-law called him on it.

  We were told by a family member that "your life will not go well as long as you don't have Jehovah in it (aka, the Watchtower)." He said it will a lot of glee in his voice. Like he was looking forward to watching us suffer. VERY disturbing behavior!

  so here is something else that helped me wake up -.

  the elders manual - shepherd the flock of god contains a special caveat for elders who have committed adultery some time ago (not sure how many years, 'some time ago' is, but probably based on a complex formula of donations and # of assembly parts given.).

  but basically, they can just get a talking to by 2 brothers and then they can keep on keeping on.

  Yes, when my husband saw this little jewel in the Elders book, it was just another confirmation that we made the right decision to leave this abusive cult.

  Do old time present day active JW`s genuinely believe in overlapping generations ?

  for the life of me i can not come to terms with old timers in the "truth" who could swallow this interpretation of scripture about an overlapping generation .. when jesus spoke about "this generation" .

  are their any real bible students among younger ones any more ?.

  here are 3 bible scriptures that confirm a generation is approximately 40- 50 years long give or take a few years .. 1. matt:1 :17 abraham born 2016-18 bc jesus born 2 bc approx.

  Yes, we told family that we were not attending. Things just have not been the same since. We refuse to enter a Kingdom Hall or JW event.

  If JW's feel they can not, in good conscience, enter a church or church event, then they must also respect our decision. We know they won't respect us but it was a good thought. lol
