Thanks for this video, it gave me some good tips I didn't know about. Also thanks for all the hard work you have put into this site; I don't know how I would have coped with leaving the JW's had I not come across it. -

Did you go to your prom or belong to a "worldly" club while you were a witness?
by minimus ini didn't go to the prom but i did belong to a chess club until the awake article said it was a war game and suggested true christians wouldn't play such a game.

I was far too socially awkward to ever go to a school dance. But I was in the chess club, and drama club. Did lots of theater at my school and competitive drama which involved me going to other schools to compete. My parents were not super JW's at the time, but that didn't stop them from writing me letters disowning me once I left the religion.

What is the furtherest your car group traveled to a return visit that counted as time?
by adjusted knowledge ingrowing up i lived in the middle of florida in the southern part.
i had a friend whose father was an elder, and would stay at their homes during the weekends.
one of the "rules", as we all know jw love rules, was that who ever spent the night had to go out in field service on saturday.

I used to live in a small rural town in Missouri. It was common to drive a good 1 to 1 1/2 hours to the territory, work for 15-30 min, and then drive back. It was a great way to make time. We were a group of young pioneers ages 15-20 (several home schooled kids) so you can just imagine the craziness involved. Was actually fun but once I moved to the city I stepped down as a pioneer, no way I was going to door knock for 3+ hours in a day. LOL! -

JW Cart - Historical Photo - 1
by Esse quam videri inwith all the buzz about the jw public witnessing cart it has escaped the notice of all but the most studious researchers that the wt carts were actually started by pastor charles taze russell.
a careful examination of one of the most famous photographs of the 1906 san fransisco fire, caused by the preceding earthquake, reveals a wt cart.
further investigation brought the researchers attention to bible student sister myrtle jenson, shown on the left of the photograph, and facing away from the camera, looking down sacramento street.

Can we be deleted as an appointed man, or disfellowshipped without meeting in a committee?
by stuckinarut2 inso, i am genuinely wondering if the above is possible nowdays?.
with the changes in the power structure of co's, the changes in gb directives re never questioning "jehovah's appointed channel etc", i wonder if "disciplne can be given out in absence?.
i know that several elders in our cong have little "discussions" about my apparant slackening off, and would love to take action against me... they have tried to chat with me but that has been shot down.. so i wonder if they could just make a decision without me being present for it?

I remember when I was on my way out and I missed tons of meetings. They showed up at my door one day as said I can volunteer to step down or they would remove me as a MS. Not much of an option huh? So I volunteered as obviously that would look better. One elder kept asking me if I was doing any kind of sinning that would grieve Jehovah's spirit. I said no. Turns out that same elder who asked me that was at the time cheating on his pioneer wife with another pioneer and he got DF'd just a month later. WOW! Such a hypocrite! Made me so sick when I found that out! -

Mom says, "CO says there's only 15 years left!"
by Separation of Powers ini don't typically hear from my mom often, but i tell you, over the past couple of weeks, i have heard from her several times.
you heard the comment about "our way of worship will be altered" and thank you for your posts by the way....but yesterday, she calls and is asking about the kids and then, in typical jw fashion mind you, says:.
"you know, you should really get back to meetings.

Ugh, I remember being 10 years old KNOWING that I would never graduate high school being told that the end was SO CLOSE! I'm 40 now. It will always be close to the end for them. I remember receiving panicked emails from my sister after 9/11 because that was the prelude to Armageddon, LOL it just never stops with them! -

I'm pretty sure that was the first time in Tony "Tight Pants" life that someone called him deluded to his face. I guarantee he RAGED after he hung up. Phone calls would have been immediately placed and meetings called. I love the chaos this no doubt caused. GOOD ON YOU MATE! -
