I think it is completely nonsensical that an organization can make it compulsory for thousands of people to meet together in one single place in one of the most dangerous countries of the planet without taking the measure to guarantee their security with a well trained government police unity.

ANGOLA - JW Regional Convention target of attack.
by EdenOne inaccording to news sources in luanda, angola (read it here, although it's in portuguese language), a regional convention of the jw's taking place this weekend at the outskirts of capital luanda was targeted yesterday, friday, by what may be described as a 'terrorist attack'.. more than 400 attendees (mostly female) passed out in rapid succession in the vicinity of a toilet at the convention place.
reportedly, toxic gas devices were planted there by 3 young members of unita, the main political party that opposed mpla, the dominant regime party in angola since its independence in 1975.
43 people were rushed to the hospital and a few remain there, under medical surveillance.

Do You Think Jehovah's Witnesses Are Typically Ignorant People?
by minimus ini think most witnesses are simple minded.many are ignorant.
there are a lot of basically "good people "in the religion but i believe many are kind of dumb, including many elders.
do you agree with my thoughts??

"Sometimes it takes suffering an injustice by WT elders or getting treated like crap by fellow JW's to shake a JW up into truly thinking again with their brain." Very well said flipper.
May I add that injustice may come from WT elders' wifes too, who prove sometimes to be very clever at working behind the scenes and at manipulating their husbands.

2017 Convention Recording: JWs Applaud 10yo Girl For Shunning Her Own Sister
by pale.emperor inthis poor girl was baptized at 9yo.
.
she isnt old enough to buy alcohol, to vote, to decide her own medical treatment, to buy a pet, to travel alone... yet she was deemed old enough to dedicate her life to a religion that will cut her off from her family if she ever leaves.. here she is applauded for shunning her own sister who tried to keep in contact with her after waking up.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yzgnfda8ki.

Poor little sweet girl. She surely has fanatical parents kissing the ass of all the disgusting machos scattered higher up in the cult worshipping organized degrees of the JW.Org Pyramid. We can blame only the parents for their religious fanatism. Poor little girl, I say it again. And I know what I am tlking about. I am crying for her !!!

How smart were the ancients?
by Coded Logic ingrowing up as a jw, i always thought the ancients were scientific morons who knew next to nothing.
ashamedly, i used to run around citing isaiah 40:22 as proof of the bible's 'divine authorship' because it talked about "the circle of the earth".
as though this were somehow an unknowable before spaceflight.

Sorry I mistook ancients for elders. Because the word "elder" in English is translated into French by JWs with the word "ancien".

Russian Ban upheld - JWs lose appeal
by OrphanCrow inthe supreme court of russia has rejected the jehovah's witnesses' appeal.. https://jw-russia.org/news/17071719-195.html.
july 17, 2017 the supreme court of russia has missed the last chance to restore law and justice for the 175,000 russian citizens professing the religion of jehovah's witnesses.
it took less than an hour of the meeting a panel of three supreme court judges, to leave unchanged the decision taken earlier by the judge yuri ivanenko, the liquidation and ban any and all registered organizations of the religion.since there is no more effective domestic remedies, the believers will appeal to the european court of human rights and other international organizations.. *note: as reported by the jworg source, jw-russia.org.

Hi Still Totally ADD !
My son had surgery in May 2012 because of a congenitally narrow lumbar spinal canal. The surgery in his case has proved to be a success (no more bent walking, no more heavy pains, etc.).
Anyway to decide to undergo surgery or not is a personal decision, not the one of an insurance company.
Take care because health is one of our greatest asset, as great as being able to live free from any form of cult manipulation..

High ADD,
My doctor last year told me that due to my strong and repeated back pains I should be seriously thinking of having a surgery to avoid later to move around in a wheelchair . After some neurological examinations (medical scanner, etc.) done in my living place, he sent me to the most famous hospital in my country so that a professor could perform a short review of my medical history and some examination (walking normally and then on tip-toe, bending forward and backward, etc..). Luckily for me the professor has not recommended surgery. If he would have told me I should have surgery, I do not know if I would have accepted. ADD, you are only 63 years old an I am now 74. Luckily since one year I do not need some other appointment at the doctor's. And now instead of using a wheelchair to move around as envisaged by my doctor, I am doing some home training using a rowing machine and I feel quite all right. Life is nice ! Take care and All the Best.
