3 JWs injured whilst Cart Witnessing

an elderly driver crashed into a park bench in mandurah, western australia today where 3 jws were sitting.

they had set up their jw cart and their literature was also strewn across the ground.. one of the jws was seriously injured with head injuries.. what a freak accident this is.. .

It's sad to hear of their injuries and deaths of others while in the service of the organization. It does not matter if they were witnesses or not, it was a human life and we are all accountable to God for what's found in our hearts.

God knows how to distinguish between good and bad intentions. He knows if those that were killed or even injured know their deceitful ways or are merely trapped in.

Why do some members on here make disparaging comments regarding a human life regardless of whether you believe in God or not?

That's disrespectful and uncalled for. Please keep those inhumane comments to yourself as they have no place in threads that originate with sincerity for people being hurt.

WT Society holds EXTREME Responsibility for 1975 and False Expectations

however- many jw's who have come into the jw organization from like 1985 forward virtually may have no knowledge of the wt society's 1975 debacle and false predictions of the end times or armageddon predictions.

just like in in the book 1984 by george orwell the wt society has a way of not only erasing it's history so no newer witnesses will be aware of their false predictions, but also they are re-writing their history as if those false predictions never happened.. so for those of you here who may have never read or heard of how whipped up into an emotional frenzy witnesses were in the years just before 1975 by the wt society claiming the end was any day now- this threads for you.

to see the pressure that was put on jw's by the wt society to get rid of everything before " armageddon " .

My Letter to Brooklyn about the Parousia that got me disfellowshipped

this is the letter i wrote back in '96 about the parousia.

following the '95 watchtower that disconnected the "generation" from 1914 i began to look carefully at end-time prophecy and soon discovered what i knew were basic errors in what i had been taught.. i was a loyal jw at the time and was still serving as an elder.

i used only watchtower publications in my research.

I just had fun giving a talk!

so, unfortunately, i'm still on the tms and had a talk tonight (in front of a co, no less) and the talk was on the subject of adultery.

in the source material there's reference to "spiritual adultery" i.e.

idolotry or when israel had alliances with pagan nations.

The parts that deal with deep doctrinal issues. Ray was a keen student of the Bible, highly intellectual in my view, and he knows the proper applicability of the scriptures as he explains them. He uses a common sense approach where he doesn't take them out of context as the WT has, does, and will continue to do so.

The parts where he's discussing dealings with the GB is very interesting and enlightening. I'm not sure if it was him that mentions it in his book or someone else but the thought of every major appointment, magazine article, assembly talks, and doctrine interpretation, was handled in a very sincere, humble, spiritual way over continual prayer until they felt Jehovah's spirit actually guiding them to mentally decide one way or another. I did not expect the bickering, and politicking that can only be compared to world politics.

the abuse, harms, thefts, suicides, family destruction - leave it in jehovah's hands.. why would anyone with a more than 2 neurons say, "oh that makes sense," we do not need to change or intervene in any way.. sooner or later, god will take of things.. .

The current suffering in many parts of the world brings into question Jehovah's Universal Sovereignty right to rule over his creation.

Perry's success has nothing to do with Jehovah's inaction in many wicked and sad world affairs.

Encounter with JWs on Literature Cart , strange happening -maybe ?

yesterday i had a conversation with a man and lady who were with a literature cart in our local town centre .

among other things discussed was the accuracy of the nwt , which i said wasn't very accurate.. the man , of course , led the discussion from the jw perspective and looked up on his phone some quotes from "experts " endorsing the translation .

he asked the lady to make note of the names , at my request, so that i could check these quotes later .

After Years of Silence My Father Reaches Out to Me

From the 2011 August 15 Watchtower section Question from Readers:

"Memorial partakers. This is the number of baptized individuals who partake of the emblems at the Memorial worldwide. Does this total represent the number of anointed ones on earth? Not necessarily. A number of factors—including past religious beliefs or even mental or emotional imbalance—might cause some to assume mistakenly that they have the heavenly calling. We thus have no way of knowing the exact number of anointed ones on earth; nor do we need to know. The Governing Body does not keep a list of all partakers, for it does not maintain a global network of anointed ones."

The GB after noticing the ever increasing number of anointed decided to put this statement out and then subsequently established that ONLY the GB from now on would be the "Faithful and Discreet Slave." The GB was not going to give up power or prominence to anyone regardless of Jehovah's decision. Also, the GB does in fact maintain a list of ALL members that claim to be anointed. The WT maintains an exhaustive and comprehensive list of every single member who has ever been baptized. This is something that most members do not know or could care less about. Most members would be surprised perhaps even shocked to see all of their congregational activities recorded and kept on file. Gotta love the transparency.

In other words, your Father remains a regular rank and file member although personally being invited by Jehovah God to rule with Jesus.

it is meant to be an individual study project regarding a faith that is different from your own and intrigues you.
