Crazy things said by Higher Rank Witnesses
by GrownMidget init was the week when circuit overseer comes and my relatives wanted to offer the food.
i had got my school friend, a muslim girl, going into the meetings and she actually progressed and went to the field service, but never got baptized and one day she just disappeared.well anyway, this overseer comes for the free lunch and then when we are sitting in the table with his wife and my relatives, the muslim girl comes as the subject.
overseer throws out this absurd asshole joke that because their family doesn't like witnesses his father will come with a truck and drives it through the kingdom hall wall and then it explodes.

Critique of the lastest New World Translation?
by dontfitin inhi, i'm a long-time lurker who is still in due to family.
i'm hoping someone here can help me.. is there anywhere online that i can find a critique of the new bible revision?
one of the things that really got me was when i researched about the new world translation and found how there was no basis for adding jehovah's name in the new testament, and then other areas where they translated to accommodate their interpretation.

@ dontfitin - oh yeah, definitely keeping a log.
I'll post my findings perhaps in about 6 months or so. I'm going to check the original language and note the intended expression and how this also compares with the RNWT. It may take me about 1-2 years to accomplish the Old Testament given other obligations. I'm working on the New Testament at the moment.

Is it true? Heard a rumor WT postphones Disfellowshipping until further notice!!??
by Olivia Wilde ini am not sure if it's true but i heard from a good source that wt has given instructions to elders to postponed disfellowshipping members from wrong doing/gross sin until further instructions given by headquarters.
i heard some jws were just reproved either privately or publically.
has anyone else heard anything like this recently?

It's an interesting thought yet seems a little far fetched.
I say this being that any high control group uses intimidation and fear to control their members.
They even have Anthony "the Mane" Morris III telling parents to not give their kids car license until they commit to getting baptized. Clearly coercion and blackmailing tactics forcing a young one to love Jehovah God.
This sinister and despicable tactic will ensure the next generation is trapped having spouse, kids, and in-laws as JW's.
But I will keep my fingers crossed.

Missing Friends.

for a brief recap, i have an aunt who is one of jehovah's witnesses.
when i was really sick, i sought out their group because i remembered the support my aunt had and how they were like a second family to her.

Your post really brings to light how conditional and insincere the Jehovah's Witnesses are. When they first show up at your door step they behave like your long lost cousin specially if you accept the literature. And if you actually accept a study right then and there, wow, you are literally that person's BFF. And if you ask to accompany them to a meeting then WOW they will literally kick their spouse, kids, and grandma out of the vehicle just to make sure there's space for you and you can attend.
It's insulting that true friendship is based on whether you agree with the anti scriptural teachings of their Organization.
My suggestion would be to emotionally end your relationship with them in every possible way. The thing is while you are reminiscing and dreaming of times past, these incredibly shallow, robotic, imbecilic, and misguided people have probably already acquired another person who has replaced you as their new BFF.

If you would still like to fade and keep your family relationships intact, I would not meet with the elders and instead let them know at the next meeting that you are aware that x and y brothers saw you dining with your cousin but you had personal business with him that has nothing to do with the spiritual matters. If they insist on pushing the matter, tell them again, that it was personal and you do not need to disclose it. Then if they still will not relent, threaten them and tell them you will be writing directly to HQ to ask. That should end it.
I would get the address of those ass**le pioneers and egg bomb their car, lawn, and entire home. Pathetic.

Not for Believers - could be hard to swallow
by The Marvster inwell now that i'm a confirmed apostate (a couple of the forum posters confirmed this today), gosh hearing myself say that is a bit frightening.... how the hell did i get to this place, well thanks to anonymity, my 'still in' family don't know this yet... .
after a whole day of watching various people describe their differences with creationist ideas, i'm finally watching this one.... it's tongue in cheek and is hilarious to watch....(this is not meant to mock people's belief in god as such, but more to do with how creationist speculation seems to go against openly available data).
i noticed that some of the arguments made by kent hovind, a creationist evangelist, smells very much like stuff i learned in 'life how did it get here by evolution or creation', and in other publications trying to explain why some phenomena in the solar system etc points to the precision in the universe = there must have been a divine hand... i assume he didn't get the information from jw's, so i wonder who jw's were getting their info from.... well thanks to sites like jwfacts, it's as clear as day anyway please don't watch if you're not ready to take in the copious amounts of data expressed to counter creationist claims... i'm only 20 minutes in and it's pretty devastating to creationist argument, the author of the video encourages each watcher to go do the math themselves where possible, stating even a high school education will give you enough tools to check out the figures and see if they add up.... (oops, that might be a problem for your die hard jw).

The gray bible has been translated not to make it 'easier' to read but rather to change and revise scriptures that disagree with their current teachings.
I've been doing a comprehensive and exhaustive verse-for-verse comparison and I'll personally attest that the RNWT committee twisted so many scriptures to fit their theology a person would be better off reading the Amplified Bible which is one of the worst translations known to exist and yet still, the reader would get a more honest grasp of the true message of God.
What a travesty these men are.
