  Sometimes I feel like I Should Believe something...

  has anyone else felt like they should believe something after leaving wt?

  i am an agnostic atheist and its so so hard for me to believe in a god or higher power.

  it just doesn't make sense.

  Boy, how did I know you we're monitoring this post like a hawk?

  Your answer still does not answer the fundamental reason why normal human beings wish to live instead of resigning themselves to death as if it was normal.

  You should know mate, the person that started the thread asked about believing in something. I don't think she wants the thread to turn into a debate. Remember, I'm not an authority and neither are you so we should not act like it on these boards. That is unless, you have acquired your doctorate and are published on the theory of evolution?

  The reason you feel like that is partially due to being raised in a cult religion but primarily because we are born with the innate feeling of wanting to live forever. We are not like animals that have very limited thinking capacity when compared to humans. The fact that we are self-aware (consciously aware of existence) and value our life and wish never to die, at least not normally, is indicative that we we're never meant to live and die so young. How can a tree that is an inanimate object live longer than a human being? How can some animals who have nowhere near the creative capacity of humans outlive us sometimes by decades?

  You are going to get a lot of people posting that we should just enjoy life which we should, but not look forward to dying. A lot of members are so put off by the WT that they have gone off the cliff and would rather just enjoy the 80 year life span and then die when their mind is screaming NO!!! I'm not ready to die!! I want to live!! The exception would be if you are suffering from maladies and diseases but even then, many people fight to stay alive. You have to ask yourself why we wish to preserve our life when evolutionists are telling us it's normal to just check out at 80+ years.

  Introduction - Any Believers?

  i’ve been reading it for a few of years off and on, but have been a little too ... maybe ... timid to join.

  i left the watchtower organization almost 20 years ago but never abandoned my faith and belief in god.

  i knew the gb/organization didn’t represent god, so when i lost my faith in them, i managed to keep my faith in an all wise benevolent creator.

  Present! Welcome! I'm also a believer Believer you are definitely not alone. Unfortunately, many of our friends on this forum have been so put off by the idiocy over in WT land that they've abandoned belief all together. Yes, there are things that seem to point to evolution but there are also things that point to a creator.

  all of the 90's new systemy books, the 60s and 70s prophecy books, some of the 40s and 50s rainbow books, and bound volumes from about 1975-1995.. i am happy to ship them to anyone that wants them.

  2 caveats- you pay shipping, and i'm not digging through them to find anything.

  If there were valuable experiences and extensive research on specific subjects, the owners should have seriously considered transferring ownership or selling outright. The fact that they refused to even consider this option for the sakes of the thousands upon thousands if not the millions of ex members just goes to show their incredible selfishness and downright stupidity. Having designed, owned, maintained, and sold my own niche websites, I'm fully qualified to call them out. No excuses just plain and utter stupidity and lack of compassion for others.
