  VA shooting suspect was raised a JW! He mentions it on his Twitter account

  anyone in the usa following this morning's shooting "on-air" live tv will know what i'm talking about.

  bryce williams (not real name, but on-air name) shot and killed 2 people on live television this morning in roanoke, va. he was wearing a go-pro camera, and uploaded his first-person video onto his social media accounts.

  i've seen his twitter feed (before it was taken down), and not very far down he mentions being raised a jw.

  My 67 Year Old Elder Brother Is Depressed Because The Younger Elders Are Taking Over

  he was the school overseer but they relieved him of that to allow younger elders the privilege of the job.

  now he is depressed and actually shed tears, believing his worth has diminished.

  @ minimus - I'm sorry to hear about your brother. I can certainly understand that feeling of worthlessness by this organization.

  It seems that your brother bought in completely to the edicts by the WTS.

  This is a classic example of how they simply remove and replace people at will not taking into account any hurt feelings. The WTS could care less how your brother feels. What a loving organization

  NWT is soooo inaccurate....

  hi this is for the lurkers.. please start reading from another translation and use tools like www.biblehub.com to verify the differences you find.. biblehub has an interlinear and a strongs concordance and heaps of dictionaries and commentaries.. you don't have to be a translator but you can clearly see how the watchtower bible and tract society has changed the bible to devalue jesus, to support their idea of a paradise earth hope for christians and many other false doctrines.. i could never understand why the jw's where attacked when they chose to translate the bible - now i know.. seriously people, there are a lot smarter people than me on this forum and heaps of research.

  This is very true. It's interesting that the Bible is full of statements of having "faith in Jesus" even Christ says it on multiple occasions yet the Governing Bitches refuse to acknowledge this.

  Again, these Bitches don't want to detract from their worship luster as acting in the capacity of Jesus and speaking for Jehovah.

  What woke you up?

  in march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.

  so what woke me up?

  an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.

  My semi-awakening moment was when I found out the elders had a secret book. Thereafter, I slowly questioned thinks that just didn't fit.

  It did take some years until I started to fully realize how manipulated we were.

  we had an announcement in our cong last week about the upcoming one day assembly.

  the title of the assembly is "imitate jehovah".

  The WT does not wish for the brothers to imitate Jesus and thereby taking their Jehovah luster away.

  They want brothers to think of them as Jesus and Jehovah all rolled into one. Kinda like an all in-one printer.

  The Governing Bitches want the rank and file to worship them and nothing else.

  there is this jw husband and wife i knew from the 80's when i was a child.

  they got a divorce a few years ago and never remarried.

  they are older now and unable to afford to live on their own.

  i discovered that my 96-year-old grandaunt had named her jw elder as personal representative of her estate and another jw "best friend" as her power of attorney.

  i learned that they used a financial advisor at wells fargo advisors to help raid my grandaunts bank accounts in the years before her death, and then the wt and jws received most of what was left of her estate.

  i am currently working on a book to expose this horrific practice.

  I know of another case similar to yours. I downloaded the court papers where the WT after having been removed as the beneficiary due to similar unscrupulous acts tried suing the estate.
