ATT: WARNING
by EJ257 inplease be aware of everything that is happening around the world at this moment in time.
this goes to anyone, ex-communicated, removed, serving, believer and non.
at this point in my observations i have realized many religions/ideologies know there is some sort "end of time" or a transition into a new order of living in this earth.

I believe the OP is a current Witness who's gone rogue or bat s**t mad and is now here to torture us with his JW rhetoric on purpose. -

LovesJehovah - I understand you would like to share stories and exchange pleasantries with other like minded individuals. Unfortunately, there are some problems with your approach. The Bible is clear on sexuality, smoking bud, and worship that is tainted.
You do know that Satan also transform into an angel of light for the purposes of deceit, right? (*hint*car+water+moon).
I also still believe in God and His Son and that in the future we will live as originally planned. I agree with many of the members on here regarding the Biblical discrepancies and God qualities that seem barbaric at a minimum. Yet the Bible's message when taken as a whole, does offer hope to those with faith in Christ and what he did. Instead of promoting love of God, you should promote love for Christ and God. Jehovah, someone else mentioning, is a Catholic monk's error and thereby the name or pronunciation came into existence. The governing dummies have taken the mispronounced name of God (should be Yahweh) and have mentally enslaved members to THEIR interpretation of the Scriptures.
To come on here and try to get members (forum/JW) to say something positive about the name 'Jehovah' is going to be a tough sell. This is due to the abusive nature in which the governing dummies have taken that name.
While I respect you as a person, you can't pick and choose to start threads imposing rules without actually owning the site. Just saying ;)

I haven't read through all of them but you must have said something positive about the Organization.
Just a shot in the dark. :)

Did I imagine a brief thaw in the Watchtower injunction against going to university?
by slimboyfat inokay i was talking to an elder and he said me going to university was a bad idea and i should have listened to the society and not gone.
but i said that when i went to university the watchtower was saying it might not be a bad idea to go to, as long as you do it for the "right reasons", don't associate with worldly people, and keep clear of "damaging ideas".
but basically they said it was okay, in this "changing world" and job market to go to university.

The elders and spiritually anal retentive brethren will initially frown upon college enrolled/seekers then come around and try to use them for the nice things they acquire later on DUE to that college education.
Hypocrisy knows no bound.

Dont Give Them More Power Than They Deserve
by Tech49 ina new montra that was recently adopted by the wife and i is this:.
dont give them more power than they deserve.. here's why i say that, and i point this to those of you still in the congregation, still trying to decide what you want to do.. recently, our family had a little family reunion gathering of sorts, and we were in the company of some extended family that were either df or da, to varying degrees.
we made it very clear, to any and all in attendance, that we wanted to be respectful and kind, despite any previous perceptions about our "status".... and that our feelings on a lot of things had "softened", and "changed" over the last 2 years.. i am being purposefully slightly vague, but i think you get the point.

Great thread & you did the right thing. ... i was just thinking of how to respond myself to elders when they question you for not being at all the meetings & service? Any advice?
Use their own stupid logic against them.
Pull out the 2014(?) yearbook and show them the GB opening letter where it clearly says that no one is master over our faith (quoting Paul's words) but rather it is of OUR doing.
Simply speaking: Shut the hell up and mind your business!

I'm so sorry Rich. May you have inner peace as you and your family deal with these horrible news.

Sorry WiFi Bandit, I could only stomach until the halfway before I began to feel nauseated. So I guess Jehovah's holy spirit went on vacation for a full 75 years.
My apologies guys, but at this point in time I must call it the way I see it:

The more recognition and acknowledgement members give the elders the more they believe it. Therefore, my point of view is to do the complete opposite. The more prestigious the title the less I think of you. I treat the lowliest friends as if they were royalty.

Massive Plunge in Number of New JW Congregations from 1990 to 2014
by steve2 inin a separate thread on the very latest figures for the current world wide annual report of jws, discussion turned to how "we'll know decline has really set in.
one of the posters said: .
the figure that interests me most is the number of congregations.

In my part of the country you had (South East U.S.) quite a few congregations perhaps around 10 form out of 1 in about 23 years or so.
The JW's are opportunistic weasels that wait for people to experience hardships and tragedy in order to give false hope into joining their cult. And while they received free, they don't give free. Then enslave you, condition you, and program you to do their bidding. Sorry had to vent a bit. I'm finished.

"They do read up on the Internet. Being a JW used to have real purpose and identity, now, more of the West goes to the KH the same way others go to church. Friends and family are there, and the rest is just window dressing."
This is becoming true more and more everyday. God bless Tim Berners-Lee and MIT's J.R. Licklider.
