Feeling rejected

just a little disclaimer: english isn't my first language (i'm from france) thus the poor writing skills.here is the situation: i'm not a jw.

however, i'm in the process of becoming one.

in fact, i'm studying with the jw's, and i'll proceed to become an unbaptized publisher as soon as i finish the first book.to make a long story short i was introduced to the truth when i was 18een.

Esmeralda - It may or may not have been said to you but my personal opinion would be to reassess your commitment to the Jehovah's Witnesses. Ask your study instructor to answer questions that can be posed now and not later. You appear to have a good heart and good intentions toward finding God and His Son and all that entails. You are smart and very capable and should be able to discern truth from falsity.

I strongly encourage you to visit sites like jwfacts.com.

If your study instructor or any other brother or sister tells you to avoid coming to sites like this one or sites that are critical of the Jehovah's Witnesses ask them that if their religion is the truth, nothing or no one can pollute that and the facts will always come through.

The actions from the elderette you mention is typical of many sisters in a position of prestige and/or power. You have barely scratched the surface as you will see many more actions and tactics from other Jehovah's Witnesses who claim to be spiritual yet they "prove false to its power."

Never be afraid to research the truth before you make a life-altering decision of becoming baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

You are attending a university and this, in itself, will make you look "spiritually weak" if you ever decide to become a member.

I was thinking about this the other day. Specifically I was thinking how Jehovah said he was going to wipe out every single human. Yet, somehow, of the thousands upon thousands of people living then somehow Noah and his family gained God's favor?

Had Jehovah wiped everyone off the map, through who would the Messiah come from?

Questions like this drive me nuts. Yet, they plant seeds of doubt about the veracity of some Biblical stories.

What about if some passages have been completely corrupted? What if some books were purposely omitted to fit a Church narrative? What determined if a book would be included or excluded from the Canon?

Definitely something I continue to meditate and research further.

JWs, UFO's, demons, and the book "The Dark Gods"

i have been looking into this issue that (many/most/all/etc) ufos are caused by demons as seems to be said by jws.

some time ago when i browsed this site i read a posting where someone recommended a book titled "the dark gods" by roberts and gilbertson (here is a link to the book at amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/dark-gods-anthony-roberts/dp/009138771x).. besides that one there are a couple of other books that i have checked (one of these is "operation trojan horse" by john keel and the other one is "a guide to the paranormal" by magnus raven).

both of these say the same thing although they approach this issue from different directions.. looking at the amazon reviews for "the dark gods" it looks like it also says the same thing but the book is out of print.

Yes, but it can be described as psychological warfare.

I won't go into a lot of detail due to reasons I can't explain here. Let me say this though; the WTS has methodically physiologically conditioned its members for many years now. And it all commences the moment you accept a book study. The meetings are of the utmost importance due to the reinforced positive conditioning that must take place. This is a form of operant conditioning which is necessary in order to continue the control over the members.

This is one of the reasons the WTS tells its members that attending the meetings is a life or death matter.
