The book of Ruth... destroys the bible
by HowTheBibleWasCreated inlets pretend two things:.
1. god (yhwh) exists.
2. the bible is his word.. now we follow genesis to judges ok... judges resets at chaper 17-21 but for the purposes od this posts lets ignore that.... ruth we are told lives in the time of the judges... ok no problem/ until the end.

"Apostates " how honest are we?

A member that goes against the doctrines by the GB and are subsequently disfellowshipped for "apostasy" although they are not rebelling against God or Scripture but rather the man-made doctrine interpretations, these type of "apostates" are usually very honest and open about their plight. This is the first example.
On the other hand you have the type of member who gets disfellowshipped due to practices condemned by Scripture, let me emphasize, practices that are clearly prohibited in Scripture. These members start off their disfellowshipped life being angry, resentful, and even vengeful perhaps because they were caught, are embarrassed, marriage in trouble, family in shambles, or perhaps for how Elders sometimes will deal harshly with them instead of trying to comfort them and admonish them like the lost lamb that they are. This is the second example.
The third example is that of members that are disfellowshipped for clearly going against Scripture in believing in things like Hell, Trinity, etc. These members usually will never return to the Organization and almost immediately they will commence posting and openly going against what Scripture is clear on. Once this threshold is crossed, they become very adamant about their position and many times they will start their own church or group.
The fourth and final example is of members who realize that they have been misled by the GB, start to fade quietly, and sometimes move away in order to successfully fade with their entire family and social circle intact.
It is the second and third examples of those that I have found to sometimes flat out lie or stretch the truth out a bit. Their reasons are obvious; trying to add to their membership roles, and trying to undermine the organization that caught them red-handed but crossing over into actual "apostasy".
The first and second examples will usually remain honest while sometimes extremely critical of the organization but nevertheless they remain honest.
All of these four examples are members who are lumped into one group as "apostates" by the organization for going against them in some form or another.
The second example is the classic "apostate" example. While the third example can evolve into other forms that are not Godly such as atheism. Once this happens they will turn on God and start to berate Biblical teachings even lying about Scripture.

General health after learning TTATT
by Darkknight757 in4 months ago i was conducting the watchtower study along with a long list of responsibilities that come with being an elder in a very goofy congregation.
during this time my health was going down hill.
i've always had a low blood pressure,(102/65 or abouts) but for the past year it had creeped up to 135/90 range.. so 2 months ago after learning ttatt, i'm still considered an elder because the brothers won't let me step down, but i haven't done anything in that time except comment once at a meeting a few weeks ago.

Double life
by Esmeralda001 inis there a way i can successfully live a double life?
don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to get engaged in activities that are condemnable according to the *bible* (not the *wt*) standards.
i figured that the only way i can get the brothers and sisters to leave me along is by pretending that i am an unemployed drop out.

Hello Esmeralda.
Is there anything hold you back such as family?
I do know you were studying with someone when you first came on the board asking if you should continue and be baptized.
Has anything changed?
I would simply tell anyone and everyone to mind their business. Elders and the like can be told not to pry into your personal life and if it's spiritual matters then tell them they are not masters over your faith.
Buena suerte.

After 17 years, I went to a KH....really shocked!!
by Prometheus inafter severe pressure from my family, i have decided to attend to the nearest kh.
and a little history regarding my self: i became inactive and lost completely contact of the wt changes and "new light" 17 years ago.. everything seemed so odd and strange during the meeting.
latest technology, animated movies, watchtower web tv, a website that you can download everything, including km and wt study articles.

If you lost track of "new light" then 17 years later the path should kinda look like this:

Governing Body perks
by Lostandfound ini had heard that gb members flew first class, does anyone know if this is so?.
also, bethel living accommodation, do they have same standard as all bethelites or do they get luxury quarters.. same for cars, are they provided luxury cars as was once the case?.
or are they all sharing in the downsizing, who cooks for them, cleans and does laundry.
-
Tenacious
I do know many of the older GB members shared rooms with other r&f.
But it's really not about the perks but rather the power they wield that can be intoxicating.
Kings have killed for much less.

Hello, I'm new here too!
by redpilltwice inhi everybody, 1st post here.
20 years jw, elder for 6 years, regular pioneer for 3 years, have always been following the 2012 candace conti abuse case with much interest, especially since the case suddenly disappeared from www.watchtower.com's news section (thanks brother j. r. brown, office of public information, because it led me to "worldly" websites for more info), leading to more and more dissatisfaction , leading to jwfacts, jwsurvey, ad1914, wtdocuments etc., leading to my awakening about 4 months ago, now fading faster and faster to zero meetings and zero field service...and you know what?
it feels good!.
