i've been serving as elder for about 4 years now in a south florida congregation.

What are the biggest holes in evolution?
by shadow inhow honest are the proponents of evolution?
idk but curious to see what type of response there is on a topic like this or does their study only seek to confirm their preconceptions and ignore uncomfortable facts?

In 14 years have you ever held a conversation Outlaw?
Yes, but apparently Outlaw is bit more primitive in that he communicates by drawings....um...I meant pictures.

Evidence of a10,000 y.o. massacre demonstrates that it is in our biology to be aggressive and lethal
by fulltimestudent inattention can be drawn to both the age of these skeletal remains and the conclusions that can be drawn.. .
skeletons dating to 10,000 years ago, bearing marks of a violent death and possibly bondage, provides fresh evidence that prehistoric hunter-gatherers did not necessarily live in bonhomie.
disturbingly, two of the 12 people found by lake turkana, kenya were not marked by signs of violence but seem to have died with their hands bound, a team of archaeologists reported in nature on wednesday.. we know prehistoric humans were armed to the teeth, but it's an open question against whom they wielded their stone knives and spears – animals, or each other.

Witnesses killed my friend today.
by WasOnceBlind intoday has been a horrible day.
what began as a day of joy finding out that one of my lifelong friends had her baby, turned into a nightmare when her brother called me to let me know she had passed away after birth.
i was in shock and didn't ask how.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
The GB cares more about keeping their authority in place than about your friend.
And your friend dying only solidifies that mental hold on the members that hear about your friends death.
The GB are trash wrapped in expensive suits.
May you have inner peace and tranquility in your life.

A sincere message to those from the organisation monitoring my posts....
by stuckinarut2 inso, i know there are some from my congregation or from bethel who monitor my posts..... maybe you're looking for something to catch me out?.
just a question: rather than trying to find fault with me, have you stopped and looked into the issues or facts about the organisation that caused me to come to a place like this forum??.
facts are there for anyone to find nowadays....one just has to be willing to pull their head out of the sand.....

Ohhhh, looks like we got a thumbs-down from the one you seek Stuck.
This laughable!
Now get back to putting in those hours in field service peddling your loyalty to those maggots in Brooklyn. And then get to studying that magazine I want to see at least 5 comments from you on meeting day!! And then get to reading your mistranslated NWT Bible and gather some good points from it BUT make sure you mention Jehovah at least 20 times!! Then when you pray don't forget to pray for Anthony "the Mane" Morris so he can finally whack that crap off his ugly melon. Remember if you don't do NONE of these, you will be destroyed at Armageddon!! This is backed by a 100% soul-sucking money back guarantee from none other than.....wait for it......Governing B*tches!!
Good day to you madam....I mean maggot. Hahahahahahaha!!!
Now get back to it!!! Hahahahaha!!!!

Having Jehovah as a friend.
by Darkknight757 ini've always found it amazing that people can say with such conviction that jehovah is their friend.. we are talking about a "friend" who perhaps daily "tests" us to see if we are his friends.
all of us have dealt with some form of hardship such as the death of a loved one, chronic illness or whatever.
it is in these cases that the brothers will tell a person that perhaps it is a test, or that "jehovah knows you're not ready" or some other lame excuse.. do our real friends "test" us to see if we will be loyal to them?

"One older single sister said "we need to more than love Jehovah we should be madly in love with him!" talk about a cringe worthy moment."
I would have b-slapped her (lightly due to age) and then grabbed her by both shoulders and looked into her eyes and said: "Get a grip!!" .....and then told her to have a good day with a big smile and walked away.

How do you feel about the expression "The Truth"?
by stuckinarut2 init's amazing how the expression "the truth" has become such an ingrained term used by witnesses.. "we have 'the truth'".
"is he 'in the truth'?".
most here have found out so many facts about the organisation, and felt the effects of being "gut-punched" as we realised these facts.. so how do you feel about the expression "the truth" now?.

I despise Witnesses who use this term or any form thereof, and any of their "special" language. But the motherlode of all the expressions they use that I despise the most is their anal retentive use of the name "Jehovah".
One thing that these imbeciles seem to lack is respect for the Father's name. How can Witnesses use THEIR Father's name so commonly? I would never use my Father's name to describe him, speak of him, or pray to him.
I used to cringe when I would congratulate someone and they would come back with "Thanks to Jehovah."
For some reason I never felt too comfortable just using this name they way the majority of Witnesses used it so arbitrarily and freely. Common sense is just not something Witnesses are used to using.

Hello BT,
I'm sorry to hear you have been DF'd from the Org.
Your feelings of despair have been experienced by thousands of members on this board.
Sadly, the Org cares more about it's image than of a member's feeling on being DF'd and the harm that stems from having to lose perhaps 90% of your social circle not including any relatives that may also turn their back on you.
Whatever it is you may or may not have done the bible is clear in regards to judging one another in John 12:47-50. Christ could not have been any clearer:
47 - "But if anyone hears my sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I came, not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 - Whoever disregards me and does not receive my sayings has one to judge him. The word that I have spoken is what will judge him on the last day. 49 - For I have not spoken of my own initiative, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment about what to say and what to speak. 50 - And I know that his commandment means everlasting life. So whatever I speak, I speak just as the Father has told me.”
Note the quotation from the NWT.
