Was Jesus really a Jehovah`s Witness ? He never identified himself as such , in word or deed.
by smiddy inalso he never chastised the jews for not identifying themselves as jehovah`s witnesses following isaiah`s statement at ch.43 :10-12 , so many years before hand.. and he had ample opportunity to do so on numerous occasions .. jesus himself never used the divine name /jehovah or any other equivalent , in any of his sayings attributed to him by his contemporaries .. sure he acknowledged god as his father and that he did his fathers will , but he never acknowledged him by a personal name such as jehovah or anything like it.. and lets not forget acts 11:26 it was first in antioch that followers of jesus by divine providence were to be called christians , not jehovah`s witnesses,.
smiddy.

Someone anonymously tipped the elders?
by raven inso here an update on my current situation, in a nutshell i've been trying to quietly fade for the past 5 months.. well, my mom somehow found out that i am currently fading and that i live with my boyfriend (for more info on this check my previous posts) i told her yes i live with him and yes i no longer want to be a jw.
anyways, yesterday she met my boyfriend.. awkward.
and after lunch she pulled me aside to tell me that the po came up to her (he was part of my jc when i was reproved) he said to her "someone came to me and said - i cannot say who so they will remain anonymous- but that your daughter is living with someone" my mom confirmed and apparently he told her that i have one week to confess this, and if i don't my parents are obligated to tell them everything.. what kind of nonsense is that?

Hey there. I would not worry about it. If you are no longer attending or identifying yourself as a Jehovah's Witness according to what governing body member Geoffrey Jackson testified to the Australian Royal Commission the elders should not be bothering you and should leave you alone. I would send them either the video or the transcript with a big friendly fyou. I hope this alleviates your worries. -

@ defender of truth - thank you for your support and explanation.
You make a lot of good points that should be taken into consideration.
I'm not sure where the petition originated from but in my estimation anything that hurts the WTS money flow, as we have seen from their downsizing of personnel and publications, can continue to hurt them economically which results in them eliminating other vital things.

I'm still on my JWN holidays but had to pop back to share this experience.
by nicolaou ini'm a postman with the royal mail and was assigned to train a new starter yesterday.
my line manager introduces me to 'dave', within seconds my jw radar was on maximum!
in his mid to late 30's, politely spoken and with that haircut - i just knew it.. the post he'd applied for was saturdays only, he said he did a lot of volunteer work.

I always think it's best to not antagonize and to speak to them with compassion and understanding.
In all fairness, the majority have blinders on that are, for all intents and purposes, are glued on with cement and we have to chip away at them until they fall off or are removed by the individual themselves.
It reminds me of when Mary went to look for Jesus at his tomb after he had been killed. Jesus appeared to her but Mary was unable to recognize him until he called out to her then her eyes were opened and she recognized him.
That's how it is with members. They are unable to see something that has been obvious and right in front of them all this time. How many times have you heard "I can't believe I fell for that or used to believed that!"

Do JWs ever doubt that the end is really coming?
by dogon inas a former dubber i had many occasions to doubt that the end was coming.
i was told it was ok to doubt but not to think about it too much and wait on jehovah.
that bull shit lasted until they changed the meaning of generation in 95 and that was the end of that bull shit for me.

Personally, I never had time to think about the "imminent end".
It's very smart to keep the friends busy enough to not even have time to think about "the end" that was supposed to have already arrived!
It wasn't until I heard about the elders having a secret book that sparked my curiosity however, it would be another 10 years before I actually acted on it.
