  The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures argues for more than one GOD

  gen.1:26 "and god went on to say "let us make man in our image according to our likeness.....etc,etc,.. the key words here are "us" and " our" ,he is including other life forms just like him in using plurals.. he did not say " i" will make man in "my" image ,using the singular vernacular.

  the same is also noted in gen 3:22 "and jehovah god went on to say " here the man has become like one of " us".

  again he is using the plural and not the singlar language clearly showing their were other life forms on an equal footing to him.. also satan via the serpent also knew the difference between good and bad before he tempted eve , showing he was on a par with jehovah god in knowing that fact along with the other gods in heaven.. another scripture that comes to mind is 1 cor.8:5 "........just as their are many gods and many lords,,,".

  Jehovah in New Testament

  hi guys.

  conscienceguy started a topic regarding what to say to the elders about the name jehovah being in the new testament.

  i wrote him a private message with my comments on the matter.

  If Jesus is part of Jehovah's being/existence/entity then many of the scriptures that have Jesus identifying himself as God make sense. Including when Jesus is about to be arrested and he identifies himself as "I AM" and everyone falls to the ground. Also, when he says he made God's name known which he was given.

  This is one of the reasons Paul identified Jesus and God being a mystery. Paul could barely grasp that Jesus came from Jehovah literally. He is part of Jehovah such as his "right arm" like the scriptures identify him. This is the reason why so many scriptures interchangeably use God and Jesus both acting in the same capacity with the same authority. This is something that I could never reconcile while I was a JW. How the scriptures both spoke of Jesus and God acting in unison.

  Hidden message in JW bunker video?

  so, i was speaking with a relative recently, who is "in" the borg, but is completely aware of the terrible hypocrisy from the gb down.

  he is not in the box, and its great to be able to have a realistic, and logical discussion about the current state of the org.. we started discussing, specifically, about that bunker video that was released in december.

  how it is being played at all the conventions.

  This is a very interesting subject that intertwines with consciousness, quantum mechanics, and that we may exist in a sort of dream-like state where what we conceive in our mind materializes in physical form.

  I've been researching this subject for a couple of years and it's a deep subject and potentially disturbing for some who can't handle the fact that we may all be nothing but computer code.

  I remember seeing this video some years back. I felt bad for these guys who really thought the GB would humbly receive them and listen to their concerns.

  I'm glad that they experienced what the GB really is first-hand and hopefully they and their families have left this cult organization.

  In all probability it was meant as an explicit warning to remain loyal to Jehovah (THEM) because the end is imminent and more than ever they will need to depend on Jehovah (THEM). I think the whole convention is meant to really cement and condition the mind of the friends that loyalty to Jehovah (THEM) is a matter of life and death. This convention is a prelude to a major change in one of their teachings perhaps the 1914 date. It just reeks of emotional and spiritual blackmail.

  The GB knows their time is up and they are now grasping at straws and playing the only viable card they have and that's the mind hold over members.

  How sweet it is to know these GB maggots are sweating bullets trying to figure out how to keep their power over the friends. Hahahahaha!!!

  This is an approach that places the responsibility of the violent person's actions on the victim. This is not an approach that works. It does NOT work to be compliant.This is a myth that is prevalent in society that needs to be corrected and encouraging this behavior is what keeps the cycles of violence active

  I agree that by cooperating or continuing to subject yourself to abuse only enables further abuse. Yes, it promotes a vicious cycle. I guess what I meant is for the sister to remain until she is able to free herself from this abusive environment/spouse.

  I apologize for coming off strong at your response. I just don't condone any sort of violence toward women or anyone in general.

  @ OrphanCrow - I was not advocating the domestic abuse of women. Perhaps I should have been clearer for members like you who may need it spelled out.

  The brothers should have told the sister not to attend the meetings or do anything that would make her husband fly off the handle. Advising her to call the police and seek safety away from an abusive husband is completely obvious and goes unsaid.

  I would appreciate that you don't jump to conclusions OC and try reading between the lines before making your stupid assumptions.
