However, I can't see how you can be so against Christianity when you yourself have a belief system based on myth
I agree, but I think the difference comes in the fact that I admit it and do not feel any shame in the idea.
okay, since leaving the witnesses and christianity.
i have become very open to learning new faiths and religions.
i have studied many and found something to be very interesting.

when i left the witnesses, i decided it was time to vote.
so i registered republican and went to voting all republican and conservative.
i figured, they might not be perfect, but unlike the democrats that i have seen.
True, when I registered to vote. The idea was which of these two parties. I found interest in some thoughts, and none in others. Yet the general idea was, any other party is a waste of your vote. So I went with a party I thought fit me the closest. Later, I rebeled and just went independent.

Okay, since leaving the Witnesses and Christianity. I have become very open to learning new faiths and religions. I have studied many and found something to be very interesting. That is, that generally I now see Christians in a very negative light. Why? Well to be brief.
I find their faith ignorant. In that they believe in something that is not very different then what the Romans or Greeks believed in, basically myth. In many cases, several of their beliefs spawned from those cultures and they choose not to see it or explain it away in a manner that makes you scream "blinders."
In many Christian religions, they hold to close to the Bible. To the point, that much like the Witnesses, they quote scripture like law, and can not grasp the idea that others see it as maybe, a history book at best, and get lost in the lack of respect they have for something. Basically, losing the ability to reason on their own.
Nearly all that I have encountered, have phony love. Love based on what faith you are and not on what you are as a person. They pass judgment, even in the best of those who claim not too. They seek harm on those of opposing faiths and they see evil more then they see good.
Trust me, I could go on and on and maybe if the conversations develops, I will add. Yet in general I do not care for the Christian faith. I went by a church the other day though that has some funny quotes on their board at times, and it said, "God wants your Spiritual fruits and not religious nuts." Which got me to thinking, do the nuts know who they are? As I think many people who get extreme, think they are the fruits of the spirit and not the nuts.
Now I would expect a response of, "so what religion are you?" Well I am a nature based faith, that looks to life and not a central God. It is not something complicated and it is something that has helped me to see a more open view of what the world around me seems to present. Personally, I think in the future of man. Christianity and Muslims, and the other major faiths of this world. Will be the straw that destroys humanity and not the one that keeps it together. Not because of spiritual judgment from God, but rather from spiritual blindness from within.
he was the most entertaining press secretary i can remember.
scott mcclellan, the new guy seems a bit overwhelmed.
press secretary has got to be a tough job.
I honestly hope that my life never gets so boring that that would matter
why is it, with all the money and education in this world.
with all the talent that is brought to the forefront and variety among us.
is there no greater comedy movies then those done by "the three stooges" "laurel and hardy" "abbot and costello" and "charlie chaplin?
Why is it, with all the money and education in this world. With all the talent that is brought to the forefront and variety among us. Is there no greater comedy movies then those done by "The Three Stooges" "Laurel and Hardy" "Abbot and Costello" and "Charlie Chaplin?" I can sit and watch these old movies for hours and enjoy it all and frankly the film quality sucks! Yet if I see a modern actor try to do something like them, I am thinking "this is lame!" I remember the actor "John Ritter" used to be compared to them. Yeah right! He was nothing and frankly I thought he always came off looking stupid and off tune to what ever these old actors had. Never have I seen anyone do what they did and only they can make me laugh at their work, watching it. What do you think? Did the age old talent die with them?
okay this is really off the wall, or maybe i am reading to much religious history and sci-fi publications, but this had me wondering last night and i had to post it.
i was reading some information lately on how ancient people might have viewed alien visitation in their lives.
many people figure that this might be something viewed as gods and perhaps some of the legends or even the highest religious books, are based some visitations from other worlds.
I think that as man advances beyond seeing myth as reality, they will start to see that things like Stargate or other sci-fi applications. Could have more to do with life then angels with wings that control the world. Just have to realize, "how would early man have seen this?"

Update
I made it a point to ask 10 people I work with and do not normally talk to, "what political party they are?" All of them answered and not one was in any sort of hang up about it. As a matter of fact, it made for great conversation. To add, 7 Republicans, 2 Democrats and 1 Green Party. Just some FYI, and why I do not understand the point to the other side.
Thanks

Two ways to loss a friend, discuss religion or politics. We do one, why not the other. Time to live on the edge a bit.

Yes and considering that Bill Clinton taught us that sex and politics are as fitting as a stained blue dress. We should know better.
