just heard from a reliable source that some at the canadian branch have received their lay-off notices under their doors at bethel.

don't know what the letter looks like.

probably something like, " the tribe has spoken, bring us your torches"

Cedars leaked letter requested to be taken down by WTBTS

i don't know if this is already posted so sorry people if it is.

cedars site has had a request to take down the leaked letter regarding changes to the theocratic ministry school and other issues.. the reason given by wt is that it is a "copyright" issue.

of course this validates the letters authenticity even more.. have a good day or night people.

He said that just because a letter or other publication is made available to the public doesn't mean witnesses should read it but should instead remain obedient to the wishes of mother not to read it

absolutely nothing.... has anyone dared ask what they need this place for?

think about a few things.

in bethels hay day, there was a shit ton of literature being printed, they even need a giant factory with elevators a truck could fit in.

It is easy for JW's to point the finger at "babylon the great" and talk of their need for rich palaces, planes and excess, but they miss the whole point when Walkill, Patterson, or Warwick is brought up.

My brother-in-law once took a pilgrimage up to one of those places with a busload of JWs. He was belly-aching about the whole trip as every commercial movie they attempted to play some JW with a weak conscious pointed out something in the movies that might have been a cause for stumbling and forced their opinions on everyone in the group.

My wife knows to not even ask me to travel with a group of her JW friends anywhere.

A question for the shunned re: hide or seek

so here's my question as a newly daed person that is summarily shunned.

do you hide from family and act like you don't exist or do you let them know you're still here and seek them out?

they want you to be dead, like you no longer exist, because strict avoidance makes it easier on them.

I've noticed my wife, when she is is upber dub mode, more and more pushing the great tribulation is at hand crap and that soon, the "door to the ark" will be closing and nobody else will be allowed inside.

This sounds like the very same fear mongering that keeps them trapped.

for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.

my 2cents on the reason for keeping tabs on inactive

i think there is.

2 schools of thoght on the reasons why they want records on inactive school 1.round this loose ends up we have to many fadeing and getting amnesty we want to keep tabs on them because they have influence on those still active so tighten up no loopholes make them pay for leaving the organization, school2.these are sincerely.

intrested in helping those who hate our guts because we treated them in an unloveing way or they feel your just are a little stupid and let the loveing shepards help you so it is intresting i also think the circuit ovetseers and yes men have hoodwinked the gb into thinking everthing is just dandy in spirtual paradise these reasons why some ate inactive will be eye opening to some of the gb and hopefully they will see people as fellow humans and not stupid little chilldren that need a human master.

Depending upon the attitude of my wife, it would have the potential to be far more devastating to her than it would be for me.

Today's JWs

so i posted earlier in the year that one of my son's friends is a jw.

he can never do anything on wednesdays because it's a meeting night.

same for sunday early afternoons.

That is time that could be spent saving lives in the "Field Ministry".

This is the gnaw the keep coming back to me whenever it is mentioned.

I remember back when I was drowning in debt, with no insurance, and my kid was beginning middle school, with me trying to make ends meet with basically a burger flipping job.....

When I decided that I needed to educate myself so that I could make a better living, I had no less than three pairs of elders at my wife's behest in my home over the course of a couple of months trying to sell me this line of bullshit.

Intro and Thoughts

i've been lurking on the board for almost a year now and i think i'm ready to come out of hiding (although, i'm so nervous as i type this).

i'm not ready to share everything about my story, but the basics are that i'm a born-in, elder's kid, baptized as a teenager because i was tired of hearing people ask me "all your friends are baptized, when are you going to get baptized?

", married an unbeliever (was df, but came back shortly after) and we have two kids.

The other thing was in the last talk given by a CO; he read the scripture in Matthew about the two gates and made the statement that "ALL" jws are on that narrow road and everyone else in the world is on the broad one. What was funny, is that just prior to this, he had been reading scriptures about not judging and provided one of those famous lists that queues everyone to grab a pen about not judging ourselves, the "friends", and those in our ministry. Isn't that exactly what he did with that statement?

First let me say, Welcome to the board.

Second, don't be afraid of expressing yourself and participating. There will be no lightening bolt coming from the sky to smite thee and who cares if that sock puppet that real estate holding and publishing company calls jehovah is sad. He's just a figment of their imagination planted deep within your consciousness to trigger fear, remorse, and guilt anytime you think any differently from what is the "truth de jeuer".

I had this same reaction you had when I accompanied my wife to her regional. I just couldn't believe what I was hearing, particularly when, in one segment, the speaker paraphrased a letter from the governing body wherein they questioned every males devotion to jehovah and potential as a marriage mate if they didn't have a position in the congregation right after they'd just talked about not using personal yardsticks to question anyone's spirituality.

They are now attempting to plant the seed in the sisters mind that if the person you're interested in marrying doesn't have a position in the congregation, then why not?

Sitting next to my well taken care of JW wife for 30 years who haven't had to work at all for the last 20, I was supremely insulted.

I couldn't help but to think, Oh, so now they are going to pimp out the sisters to complete their objectives????

Trying to get from under the clutches of this cult while being a born-in elders baptised as a child son.......

Whew, I don't envy the task you have ahead of you particularly if you want to have some connection to your JW family. Not a whole lot of people get away unscathed under those circumstances.

However, tread carefully, deliberately, and at your own pace. It can be done.
