Wasn't there a young man who beheaded himself in a Kingdom Hall parking lot? That's what I thought of when I read this.

Has anyone else read this?
by TresHappy ini read in the wall street journal that the fella who blew himself up in oklahoma - his mother is a jehovah's witness...
when a junior at the university of oklahoma blew himself up 100 yards away from a packed football stadium on oct. 1, the 85,000 fans inside remained calm despite the loud explosion.
but the calm has given way to anxiety, as the college town of norman, okla., has struggled to separate fact from fiction in the apparent suicide of joel henry hinrichs iii.

Reveal something "weird" or "unusual" about yourself
by JH inwhatever i drink from the fridge, i put it into the microwave for 10 seconds so that it won't be too cold to drink.. .
whenever i drink ice cold liquids, it irritates my tongue/mouth and often triggers a sore throat.
now you have additional proof that i'm weird .

I have a thing for cobalt blue glass and/or copper. If I see them, I have to touch them. Copper feels like warm energy. Blue glass is mesmerizing.
The letter F and the number 4 interchange in my memory. (I could barely type that for getting them mixed up)
And, Leolaia, they are both brown in my head.

I love Mulan for her wit, wisdom, and huge heart. But I love the rest of you too. Hard to pick just one when each has such a value here.

I know the burning in your brain you speak of. I had a constant ache for something I couldn't describe. I had a friend who was a dean at my school who took me aside and walked me through psychology and philosophy to whom I will be ever grateful. He recognized and told me that part of me was dying and I needed to break away. I wish he was here today. He showed me a little bit of what's out here. Thank you Mr. Isbell where-ever you are. I'm out and my brain is exploding at regular intervals!

A Challange to Def'd.....
by AK - Jeff ini, and many other well meaning posters here, have asked you dozens of questions.
you have dodged them all for the most part and spent your replies on personal attacks, or just plain refusal to address the questions posed.
your favorite retort is typically ad hominen attacks or a red-herring thown in for good measure.

1 Peter 3:15 "...always ready to make a defense before EVERYONE that demands of you a reason for the hope in you, but doing so together with a mild temper and deep respect." NWTWould not with-holding the truth you KNOW in fear of throwing pearls before swing raise the issue of blood-guilt if a lurker here were stumbled? What a fine opportunity this is for you to make a defense.

Do members of GB go from house to house???
by zagor ini've always wondered this.
does anybody have first hand information if they do and how much, or is their service sort of like when co comes and goes along to book studies to give "encouragement".
or even more so, do they stand with magazines on street corners?.

What silly rules did your congregation make up?
by weinermcgee inelders were famous for making up stupid rules with no bible base at all as an ego trip i guess, what were some of yours?
i am not talking about the stupid rules that we all had to follow, just the congregation specific silly ones.. 1. having to button your jacket while on stage (this was later changed due to all the elders having a beer gut).
2. suits only or no privledges.

No yard sales or thrift stores because you'd pick up a demonized item unknowingly. There was a story about a brother who bought a trenchcoat at a yardsale, found out it was demonized when it tried to throw him off a porch while he was in field service. Of course they tried to burn it and it wouldn't burn because of the demons.
That all changed when we got a CO who actually stopped his field service for a yard sale on the block we were working. The car group flocked to the yardsale like someone just opened a buffet and they had been starved. I wonder now what the homeowner thought.

Did your KH sound system ever pick up CB radio?
by MungoBaobab ini remember mine did, way back in the early- to mid-80's.
it was always funny to all of a sudden hear a trucker hollering out the f-word in the middle of the service meeting!
man, if could only imagine the deer-in-the-headlights look of panic in the eyes of the elders.

We had a non-denom Christian church a block away and their choir would come through clear as a bell sometimes. I heard some whisper it was the demons trying to stumble us.
