Cheers drwtsn,
I was sold the first season seperately, not in a two pack with the 2nd season (cries). 3 series hey??? I was told 4, but I didnt think that many would have been made. Seth MacFarlane is a genious, so many voices. I remember watching my first epidsode of family guy (the one where 'the man in white' was going to put him back in the womb - also 'stewies 1st b'day' and meg meets her first friend). I was at work at the time, and this little stewie character facinated me. I was hooked on every word, very unique. My fav saying is now "blasted matriach!"
I do have a question, what does Stewie say at the start of an episode where he says "Blasted Matriach! She has failed once again to replenish this fridged box with 'Po________". Does he say potations?
I welcome the series return, thanks for the link!
and another thing - do u have seinfeld (DVD) in the states? (assuming your american)

Hello all!!!
Any Family Guy fans here?? Ive noticed they make several religious cracks about jw's and other religions. eg, in the middle of a musical part, sings -
"We'll stop Jehovah's at the Gate" - "Can I have the pamphlet sir?" (smacks the jw) - amongst others. Its real funny, yet my fellow jw's refuse to laugh or even take it as a joke. eg, jesus says - "Ok people for my next miracle - Im going to turn water into funk" (jesus does the splits signalling the peace sign, dancing to upbeat jazzy music)
Ive only have the first season on DVD, and have watched bits and parts of the second season. How many seasons are there?

Christmas blows. No offence to chirstmas lovers, but I hate this holiday. Yes, it may have its perks - unites family, but in my case, this is bad. I just dont like to celebrate birthdays, chirstmas holidays, new years etc. New years maybe an exception, 2 new years ago - I had an argument with a group of friends while camping up in the hills, SO, I left them and hung out with 3 lesbians. Good times, I still dont talk to my friends I had the argument with.
Viv, no need to hibernate. If anything, I wish I were in your position. As blondie said before, ask friends from work etc to go out with you. Definately go out, do not stay home - kinda depressing (only if your the only one home).
As for me, I want to work (rake in the big bucks).
I really hope you work things out.

Id hate to be born into religion. Id also hate to be MM. I guess I can see the similarities....
MM's music isnt good either. I do know that in congregations across Australia, MM is considered the devil of music, either that or cradle of filth (the more commercial bands).

Where does it state in the bible when/if the government will turn on jws.
by Frantic inmy jw friend informs me, the un will turn on all religion (the jws first).
does this have truth to it, or is it all speculation and hearsay?
i say this because he believes the government will turn on all organised religion sooner rather than later.. .

Hi everyone!
My jw friend informs me, the UN will turn on all religion (the JWS first). Does this have truth to it, or is it all speculation and hearsay? I say this because HE believes the government will turn on all organised religion sooner rather than later.
Thanks everyone, references would be a major bonus!
Thankyou

What is the thing that keeps you going?
by Sassy inyerusalyim
started a thread about not feeling well and asked what others biggest complaints were right now.. so i got to thinking, what is the opposite?
what is the one thing that gives you a reason most to smile and get out of bed in the morning.

hey sns,
well, music is my driving force at the moment. Either listening or writing. This is an everyday firestarter to get me out of bed (then going to uni/work).
taking in things we normally wouldnt appreciate fully like the sky and the clouds.....rainy and breezy days (this puts a smile on my face)
Its sad but family has not come into the equation yet (as to getting up in the morning for a reason to live).....u know..... In 10 years this will all change, new perspectives, probably what mr Frankin said. Things that matter most.

Just lost our parents....
by 2escaped lifers inwell, the shunning begins.
we finally had "the" discussion with my parents, that we no longer consider ourselves jw's, and a little bit of why we felt that way.
of course, "dad the elder and po" and mom the pioneer dutifully informed us that not only will they be "loyal to the organization" and shun us completely, but that he would immediately let the other elders know, so that proper judicial action could be taken.. it was a heart wrenching discussion, with all of us, including my two young boys (9 and 10) all balling our eyes out.

Just when you thought your day couldnt any worse, after reading your post Brandon, my day managed to get worse.
I am ashamed that your parents would stay tru to the organisation and not you! It makes me angry....and I disagree 100% with their decision to shun. I hate to delve into details Brandon......but did your parents cry? I hope they did......
What's sad is, ppl in this organisation would prefer to go Witnessing only to have a small proportional chance of converting someone (most of the time - a mouth full of abuse - a release the hounds scenario - or sometimes even spat on, telling the witnesses they're not welcome!). Why would any parent prefer abuse from a stranger than love from their own children??? its shocking and completely unjustified. Family should be the greatest organisation of all....

Thanks Jim, its odd to say people will come back at the optimum age if its not published in the WTBTS/Bible. U know, I should just ask a JW elder. Thanks for ur response.
