  hi to all who defended me on that other board.. i came home today to nine pm's, all defending me from the personal attacks on me, on another board.

  i am still in shock, but i do appreciate the words of those who defended me.. one gal called me and told me she had five phone calls from others expressing shock over the way i was being maligned on the other board.. i am fine, and dealing with it.

  i guess we all need to expect to be criticized.

  I am so sorry to read about all this stressful stuff... I just want to say that I was on this board a while ago, and then could not get here due to a lack of a computer. But I am back now, and want to tell you that you were very kind to me back then. Your posts never failed to encourage me because they were heartfelt. Now that I am back, I want you to know that I am glad you are still here and hope that you can find joy in all the posts on this thread...you certainly are loved here!

  Bologna sandwiches...

  what are some good things that a single guy can make for dinner besides spaghetti or peanut butter sandwiches or something stupid like that?

  Dan...here is a really delicious, and totally easy recipe:

  Take out your crock pot...add beef spare ribs or pork spare ribs. Then, add a bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce. Cook all day. Then serve it over rice or pasta...whichever you like. Nice and easy! My favorite sauce is any of the ones with honey in it. And to make the ribs it takes about 3 minutes!

  as of nov. 13th i won?t be able to check out this board as often as i would like.

  after 9 years, the 14th is my final day working for the military (active duty army, then civil service job).

  my husband resigned from the marines and is currently working in management and so we?ll be moving to a new location nov. 19th

  what makes you angry?

  i have so many things!

  life, in general, pisses me off!

  I was angry that my parents raised me to be a submissive wimp.

  I was angry that being a submissive wimp lead me to marry an abusive a**hole.

  I was angry that I turned to the congregation for help...and they didn't.

  I was angry that they implied it was all my fault. I wasn't submissive enough. (oh yeah, I forgot, I love to be beaten by my elder husband!)

  I was angry that I became a non-entity for 1/3 of my life.

  I was angry that my daughter was ingrained with her father's abusive personality-by him.

  Now I am just angry that I wasted all that time being angry!!!

  i don't know who wrote this but i found it interesting.

  i heard a funny story about a cowboy who ambled into the local blacksmith shop and picked up a horseshoe, not realizing it had just come from the forge.

  he immediately dropped the hot shoe, shoved his seared hand into his pocket and tried to act nonchalant.

  You are so right......"The only solution, of course, is to let it go. " I had a lot of pain...from injustice at the way my ex treated me, from the way the elders mishandled the entire situation, the way the society handled the situation, from my now ex friends, and even my (ex)parents. But, until you let go of the hurt...even if the hurt is not imagined, but very real, you will not be able to move on to mental or physical health. It took years for me to do that, and I still have twinges of the feeling of "IT'S NOT FAIR!". But when I finally started to let go, it was like the weight of the world left my shoulders. No wonder people get sick carrying that load around for a long time! Great post!

  How Many Hats Do You Wear?

  coming from a large family and professionals in their field, i've come to wear many hats.

  the great majority of my family are and were not jw's, this served as a schooling for me.

  let me include the people in my personal life, how about you?.

  I wear many hats. I am courier....boyfriend got DWI (uugh) after a few beers with guys after work...took his license away. So I have to drive him to work and pick him up. Tutor for daughter in Math, run my 2 businesses from home, chief cook and bottle washer....

  Is that what you are looking for?

  "Worldy" girfriend or JW girlfriend... Help me choose...

  enjoying being single.. right now i have a "worldy" girlfriend (note the quotes " ").. but there's this incredibly beautiful jw girl that has shown interest in me.. (i'm not df or da, just not going to meetings.

  Hey confucious, nice to meet you. As a woman that used to be that beautiful girl as a 21 yr old JW (now an old "worldly", df'd, 41 year old), I can tell you that from what you are saying you are considered a catch! Money, older ("he can take care of me"), great bod, and good looks! And even though you might have pulled away from the dubs for awhile, that just makes you more enticing. I would be careful if I were you. If she is a sheltered jw, no "fun" in wicked ways, she may find you very appealing, thinking that she will be able to have freedoms she does not have now. She may be a very different person after she gets a taste of that freedom... someone you may not even like. And, since she does not have any other experiences to compare these to, she may eventually want to experiment even further...away from you. I don't mean to be pessimistic here. But, I would just say...make sure you really know this girl before you even hint to her what you are talking about here. Find out what her intentions are regarding the JWs, how strong into it is she?

  I wish you the best! Listen to your heart and head for sure....be careful what the "bad boy" below tells you. Run it past your head first! Good Luck!

  It's amazing that when you are going through it all, you think you are the only one.... then I opened my eyes and found out how rampant the abusiveness is! Phew...it's good to be away from all that!
