So...I watched the new Netflix movie, "Uncknowledged" by Dr Steven Greer today fierce hearing to dj's discussing it on the radio, minds blown. It makes a strong case for UFO's and totally screws up JW doctrine about the Earth having the only intelligent life in the universe, as it is where the issue of universal sovereignty is played out and decided....the GB will need to do some fast talking. Anyone see it yet? Everyone should! It will be fascinating to blow some JW minds with this. Love to hear your thoughts ...

Revision and new info for Chapter 25 New Boy 50 years a Watchtower slave
by new boy inmy upbringing in the church had taught me that they were detestable in god’s eyes.
they drove the point home with scripture after scripture.
leviticus 20:13 "if a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act.

Oh this stoopid shunning thing!!
by Unstuck inwarning - vent ahead....... so, my father (still very much in jw but who has at least had the decency to still keep in contact with me and hubby and to show interest in why we aren't attending and respect where we are at) is in intensive care at a local hospital and is intubated and sedated with some serious health issues.
i'm next of kin so i get all the phone calls from the hospital.. so, the rest of the "family" has cut me off because we are inactive and because the ever-active jw gossip grapevine has rumoured with a sibilant slithy hissy voice: "apossstassssy" is the cause of our inactivity.. whatever.. but now i've had to contact said "family" with the news about my father and what is going on....... so, dad's sisters answer my calls and manage to act and conduct themselves with a degree of decorum.. my sister on the other hand - well, she doesn't deign to answer my calls and texts for most of the day.
i push the issue tonight and insist on speaking to her when my brother-in-law answers the call.

Dear Unstuck, remarkedly im in the same situation with my dad and sister. I can tell you that it's the first time I've spoken or seen my sister in 6 years since becoming "inactive". My dads situation was months in the hospital and both she and I were able to work together helping dad. I'm very grateful for the cooperation as it makes a difficult situation much easier. Initially our meeting was strained, but now we are managing a somewhat emotionally distant but sisterly relationship in spite of the dissonance. Keep doing what you are doing honoring your dad, loyally and lovingly caring for him. The hospital staff's response to your caring for your dad may have a positive affect on her to the point she could at least acknowledge you to be a good person and not deserving death by angelic execution. What was good for me is having reacquainted with her side of the family, I realize I'm just fine and happy where I am and I'm not longing for that relationship as she/they are anymore so entrenched in the religion. It's like they have a 'stepford wife syndrome"; very surreal and kinda freaky. Smh. Wishing your dad a complete recovery and to tell you to hang in there and just be yourself. My kids always say, "mom, just do you". Great advice and so I'm humbly passing it along. All the best!

No Longer Afraid
by compound complex ingreetings, dear friends and fellow survivors:.
i am grateful to be alive and associated with like-minded people, both here on this wonderful forum and in day-to-day interaction with friends, neighbors, clients, but, sadly, few if any jehovah's witnesses.
i have, somehow, become detached from the sadness and sorrow of the past, about which i have written on this and other ex-jw forums for some dozen-plus years.

Everything is Up for Grabs! So, who gets to decide?
by TerryWalstrom ineverything really is up for grabs.. our sense of "absolutes" is always under fire.
we are taught to invest all of our belief in the very idea of something being true and absolute and constant.but--is that illusory?.
examine how this works: jesus was tortured and murdered by hanging him on a cross.

I agree with Terryand Simon..so it's one self righteous group trying to decide for all what is moral or immoral and acting on their own delusion of moral superiority....what if you take the personal emotional charge out of the situation here and look at it through the lense of a foreign country like when ISIs goes around shooting up ancient temples and monuments of huge historical and archaeological importance because of their self righteous moral delusions? Amazing artifacts defaced and destroyed forever because of some who are offended from within their own mental framework and opinion and not taking into account those with a different one. I think history should be preserved as it is. what is with all of these people freaking out about anything for the sake of being offended without common sense? Ugh take a chill pill everyone. Can't watch "gone with the wind" anymore either ? -

Has anyone else recently been contacted by a once close JW friend or relative? Could this be a new JW tactic?
by Latte inhmmmm...yesterday my long life friend called my landline after many years of silence.
now the shock has subsided, i am wondering if i can forgive and forget the fact she chose not to keep in touch throughout a time in my life which was very stressful.
sadly, i gathered that she is still involved with jehovah’s witness faith.

Hi Tori, I really hope that you are right. It would be so nice to help someone like that. My still in sister is like a stepford wife, it freaks me out. Gosh I hope these people wake up from the craziness.

Concept faithful discreet slave
by inbetween09 inaccording to the "new light" the faithful slave class appeared after jesus came 1914 (rather 1918 he inspected the temple) and was bestowed with assigement to provide spiritual food.. there are a number of problems with this new concept:.
how did russel and co found out about certain unique teachings diffferent from mainstream christendom?.
option 1) apparently by himself, as there was no fds at his time.

Along the same lines of parable v prophesy, wasn't there recent "light" that stated the former "evil slave class" was now considered a parable since the type anti-type interpretation was shelved? Wouldn't that make the "faithful slave class" a parable by their own interpretation? How do they rectify the disparagy? Does anyone have a current clarification? Just wondering.... kinda confusing.
