1995 no big deal??
by Bubbamar inwhen i discovered - only recently - the the masthead of the awake was changed in 1995 to eliminate "our creators promise" i found it apalling.
it was a promise people!!
i am curious, did the wtbts write articles or discuss this radical change or did they just slip it in?

If you think that is strange, you should hear the second to last talk at this summer's DC on Saturday. The speaker goes through the last 80 or so years of "doctrinal changes"(aka, New Light) and talks briefly about the separating of the sheep and the goats in 1995 but totally missed out on the Generation change, IN THAT SAME YEAR!! Me thinks the Society did that on purpose for this manuscript talk. They didn't want to rattle to many feathers. But c'mon, the generation change was by far the most hard hitting of all changes in the last 80 years. I will write more on the assembly later once I get all of my notes in front of me.

I use the term "conquest" as a symbolic descriptor. I think most men after having sex do not jump up on the bed and yell, "I WON, I WON!" Most view it like this when talking to their closest buddies:
A - "Hey John, remember that hot redhead you saw me with the other night?"
B - "Yeah."
A - "Well I gave her my O face. Oh Ohh."(Office Space)
B - "Damn, you da man!"
Above conversation = Conquest
You will not hear most men talking like this in front of women though ---- they do not want to be viewed as the "dogs" women typically refer to.

Screw it, blame sex on God. Why did Jehover cause young girls to be able to procreate at an age younger than 14? Why did Jehover cause young boys(younger than 14) to have erections and seminal emissions? If it were up to God, not Society, what is his youngest age for having sex and procreating? If Jehover wanted womankind to not have sex and get pregnant before they were ready, then why did he not make a woman ovulate until a later age?
So either Jehover messed up bigtime by letting humans develop too quickly, or our Society is jacked up because the lawmakers didn't follow God's recommended biological timeframe for humans.
But really, this argument can swing both ways and can be defended just as easily by flipping it around to the other shoe.

Also speaking as a once fourteen year old boy, I probably would have been scared shitless if my teacher who looked like that wanted me to help fulfill her, umm, needs. But, and that is a huge ass but, I would have most likely jumped at the chance to 'score' with my teacher. Growing up as a young witness, you are repressed sexually to a point where you want to get it in some way or form.
I think for most men today, even younger kids like his age, it is viewed as a conquest equal to becoming A MAN. I bet if someone ran a poll asking men if they wished this could have happened to them when they were younger, the YES column would far outweigh the NO column. You can take that to the bank.

Yes, I forgot about the Saudi beheading. In that scene, if you are just gazing over the entire picture, you could miss it. The vantage point is probably 150 yards or so from that spot. MM never really laid into the Saudis in my mind. He could have, but he simply showed the ties between them and the Bush's. I thought it was very
funnyinteresting that the Secret Service was asking MM about his documentary being filmed in front of the Saudi embassy. They own 5-6% of the USA? Good lord.The document from GWB's military record was intriguing. I wonder if the real reason for the administration blacking out that name was for the exact reason MM brought out?
