Well, flash, that would matter only if you bought in to the whole "UN is the harlot" thingy. I don't see any indications that the UN is hostile towards religion. It's neutral at worst.
If you don't accept the UN as the Wild Beast now please keep it in mind for later. Although it may not be anti-religion at this point what it will become in the future is another thing. Remember, God is going to put it in their heart to carry out His plan toward the religious harlot.

Yes, they have been saying things like this from Day One. Even so, I believe their doctrine of God using the worlds governments to destroy all religion is correct. IMO, we should watch for the United States and Briton to hand leadership of the War On Terror over to the UN, who will then be Divinely lead to determine that "religion" is the real problem and has to go...IMO.

I am convinced the WTBTS registered as an NGO in order to better represent their interests (freedom of speech, freedom of religion) in some of the more oppresive parts of the world.

This has, and will always be(to me at least), the most logical conclusion I have yet to hear. Mind you, this wasn't my idea at all -- it was my old PO's opinion! When he told me this, I was at a loss for words.

what exactly are the "core beliefs" of the wtbs?

i was raised in it and don't even know what "they" are.

is it me or has these core beliefs been extremely fluid?

What exactly are the "Core Beliefs" of the WTBS? I was raised in it and don't even know what "they" are. Is it me or has these core beliefs been extremely fluid? I find Christianity outside of the bOrg to be so much easier to understand.

Hi Josie!
I believe these are the 'Core Beliefs' of the Witnesses. On a personal level I still hold to these because I think they are correct. I stopped attending a KH over four years ago because of the abuse of authority at ALL levels and because of the endless flow of "man made" rules the GB invents.
God has a name (Jehovah) and is not a trinity.
Jesus is God's first creation.
The Angelic rebellion is the source of all our troubles.
The Great Tribulation and Armageddon are literal and coming.
God will use the worlds governments to destroy world religion.
The Thousand Year reign of Christ is real.
The Resurrection is the only hope for the dead to live again.
The Little Flock will become a literal Heavenly Government.
Satan and his Demons have a finite time to exist and will be terminated.

I agree with you completly.

I'm also convinced that in these scriptures Jesus was talking about those 'leading' His congregation NOT those who left it. Matthew 24: 45 ~ 51 and Luke 12: 42 ~ 48.

ok, i was reading this chapter today in my back garden and was astounded at what i had just read.

every year as long as i have been a witness vs 28 is mentioned that a man should examine himself under scutiny before eating the bread and drinking the wine.

obviously implying that only the anointed are to partake of the emblems etc.

Jesus said the Little Flock and Other Sheep become "One Flock". This referred to Christianity being open to both the little flock of Jews and the other sheep that were to come from the Gentiles.

What then is the meaning of Holy Spirit being given to the Gentiles? By your reasoning Jews = Anointed...correct? Christ's 1st century disciples were anointed with Holy Spirit and "knew" they were in line to be Kings with Him in Heaven.

There is nothing to suggest that these terms have anything to do with the 144,000 and Great Crowd of Revelation.

So despite almost 2000 years of good people with genuine Christian faith, the early Christian days of mass baptisms, steadfastness in the face of really awful persecution, etc, you think it's even *feasible* that there are still enough spots left in heaven for 8/9,000 people to be the only living annointed?

I'm not convinced that the WTS anointed headcount is reliable, and I have no idea how many truely anointed people there are on earth today.
