Ah, this is why we should be building up our homeland defense, support among our allies and not fighting wars half way across the world. Our borders are so pourous and there is still no check in place to deal with shipping freight at our harbors and ports. To top things off, our towns and cities have no money to buy the equipment and supplies that would be needed to deal with just such an attack. Sadly, I think it will take another attack to address these weaknesses.

It's not a matter of "if", it's a matter of "when"
by DanTheMan inradical, militant islamists or a "rogue state" like n. korea will eventually succeed in nuking one or more american cities.
of this i am utterly convinced, it is not a matter of it "might" happen, the question is how soon will they succeed in pulling it off, and what will the fallout of such an event be, besides the loss of hundreds of thousands or perhaps millions of lives?.
john kerry in a recent stump speech said that all it would take is one megaterrorist attack to drastically change life as we know it.

He looked like he was wearing the same out fit when he sang Purple Rain ten years ago. Maybe some of Prince's non-dub friends tried to get him out and about before he gets totally brain washed. I could just imagine Prince talking to the elders and them saying ok-it's up to your conscience to perform as long as you behave yourself. Of course, you can't really do anything on T.V. these days because apparently boobs are the devil according to Colin Powell's son. I just hope Prince didn't have to skip meeting today to perform on the Grammys.

The Elder's Boy's Club
by minimus inwhy do some elders love being elders?
it's because they belong to a club.
it's an exclusive club.

They love it because most elders are losers in their normal everday life. Let's face it, most elders don't come by the position by having a successful career. Every single elder in my hall excluding my father, who did go to college, had crapy jobs and crapier houses. The eldership is the only vestige of power or prestige that these men have. They most likely got the position by being very loyal and probably being married to some loyal dub sister who doesn't give oral. I never really did understand why my father became an elder with his college background-i.e. being in a fraternity, voting, basically having a normal life. This still angers me and when I ask today about his college life-he will tell me that college wasn't that important-yeah right, it only gave him everything he has till this day. It just goes to show you how brain washed you can become.

Czar,
The Rendell budget did account for K-12 state teachers but does not address college teachers. This is a separate budget involving the 13 higher education state universities from Temple to Shippensburg. I can tell you first hand that since last fall semester, we have been under the threat of strike every day. The professors which belong to the APSCUF union are in a bitter struggle with the school administration. The situation has become more dire of late and the professors have already authorized the power to strike. No one knows what the ramifications will be if the professors strike in the middle of the semester-it has never happened before. However, the problem is not the teachers and maybe not even the administration but the fact that education in this country if underfunded. Bush touted his no child left behind program but to date the initiative is useless because there is no money. No money because it was all spent on the military and tax cuts. In fact, some states are pulling out of the no child left behind program because it's not being funded by congress. Where's my money?

If you want to talk about AWOL, shouldn't you say something about Bush's so called service in the Texas National Guard. Plus, have you seen the recent numbers, Kerry is ahead and leading by 5 to 10% against Bush. My biggest problem with Bush is not always what he does but how he does it. Here in PA the college teachers are on the verge of striking because of a mere 40 million deficit, where is our help? We can spend over a 100 billion in Iraq in just one year, but we can't properly fund our states. I'm not trying to get to political, and indeed I'm registered as independent, but I feel that we can do much better than our current leader who had given us massive debt and PR nightmare abroad. Who cares about Sadamm, where is my Osama? Also, if you could openly vote as a Dub member, I'm sure that most would probably vote for Bush because he is so Christian. I thought this country represented freedom for everyone, not just the Christian Right, don't we have better things to do than ammending the constitution so gays can't get married? Is this truly the most pressing issue our society faces that we have to ammend the constitution? Sometimes, I feel like I'm living during the Prohibition time period. No wonder this country spawned all kinds of crazy cults and religious fundamentals, i.e. Russel and his Org.

Where were you when you decided to quit being a JW?
by Steve Lowry infor me, it was at the hall.
it was an evening meeting.
i felt a kind of mental surge within me brewing and i got and went to the men?s room.

Right, I wanted to move in with this girl from work just as room mates and nothing more at the time. I needed a place to stay, and she had some extra room, I guess I was always liberal like that even as a dub. I had a witness girlfriend and she sorta of understood, just no one else. Everyone else thinks that if you move in with someone, you will start to have wild crazy sex. In the end though, that was one of the triggers that enabled me to see the hypocrisy and leave. Besides, I would rather have a "worldly girl" as my room mate than some nieve witness guy who can't even talk about masturbation let alone girls.

It was November 2000 and I decided it would be more exciting to stay home from meeting and watch who would become our next president, basically I'm still waiting. I also think I had a talk that night, I liked giving talks but I hated the stupid research that went into them and the boring topics, plus nobody ever listened anyways.
Of course, I had begun to stop being a witness when I decided I wanted to move in with this girl from work because I was tired of living at home and driving an hour to work. Of course, my parents and the elders freaked out and had this big meeting with me. That may have been the week before the general election in November. Oh, and did I mention that after my little meeting with the elders, my witness girlfiend's dad came up to me a told me that he no longer wanted my to see his daughter. He thought I was ok the week before but as soon as tried to do something crazy like get my own apartment and I was the devil not worthy of dating his daugher. Oh, and this time I'm all registered to vote and Bush is going down.

If You Found A Wallet----Would You Turn It In??
by minimus inwould you have to think about it??
?
-
Atilla
Yes, of course I would return the wallet unless wait, I found a wallet with a blood card in it. I would just assume this person is already being taken, why not a little more?
Besides, by not returning the wallet I could save their life it they got into an accident and needed blood before they replaced their blood card. It's tough love really, that's all.

Yes, you must read this book. I just devoured this book when I got it last year, I read the whole thing in less than a week and that was impressive because it was finals week at college during the same time I was reading the book. I just couldn't put it down. I had already made up my mind about the hyprocrisy and lies of the organization before I read the book but the book just my anti-witness feelings that much stronger. The best thing about the book is that Franz doesn't necessarily put the witnesses down, he just tells the truth which make the book even more believable-i.e.-credible. I'm trying to read some other books that Ray Franz wrote, but I am really busy right now living my life without other people telling me what to do.
