Feeling very grateful for JWD and all..............

lately i've become sooooo grateful for this forum.......don't know if it's all the "spiritual energy" from all the ancient cultures that have held this time of year as a "season of light"......but, i am feeling such an emotional connection to everyone here............so, in keeping with this intense "season of light" i want to tell all of you, even the ones who rub me the wrong way and i rub them the wrong way..............how very much you mean to me.

it's been four years for me since i joined, and the first year, i probably posted very very little, but last year especially, i finally felt myself jelling with the forum..........i finally felt a real part of, with a substantial emotional growth as a result.............thank you, jwd for making my life better and brighter!.

What Is Your Biggest Regret Because You Were a Jehovah's Witness?

growing up as a witness makes it nearly impossible to deal with the "world", as a child.

constant pressure is put on witness kids to conform.

most lead a "double life" out of necessity.

Knowing that I'll probably not see the ushering in of the promised New World Order in my lifetime.

That I'm not one of the ones of the " Millions Now Living Will Never Die" crowd.

Not seeking out "Higher Education" sooner as opposed to when I was 40+.

Assuming that everything the Society stated was absolute truth as opposed to questioning them first, seeking out their history as well as their troubled past.

this particular picture, generated in fractal extreme, is not remarkable for its beauty, but it is quite an amazing picture in another way.

I tried to comment earlier over the weekend before the server transfer.

I thought that was just fantastic to see the pictures magnified so many times. Then to see them with the colors attached was just phenomenal.

Its like looking at the opposite end of the spectrum in the universe. Time and space being without end, the heavens, the countless galaxies have their equally intriguing counterpart, the wonder of matter being broken down to infinite extremes displayed in those photos.

Absolutely Breathtaking!!!

Do You Now Feel Liberated Since Leaving The "Truth"?

i do.

once you realize how much bondage you were under....it's easy to feel good not having the weights of man made rules.

it's very liberating for me to tell people that i no longer associate with the jw religion----very liberating!!

After looking back, I now realize how enslaved I was, being haunted by the Wizard of OZ, as it where, was truly how I felt, and all the little characters, Dorothy, The Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, were all parts of my persona, now that the man from behind the curtain has been revealed as to who he actually is, I have a lot less fear of looking towards others for spiritual enlightenment. I'm not as intimidated.

I still have reservations about many things regarding God's purpose for my life, but I no longer associate the WTBTS with having Almighty God in their back pocket.
