dear all,.
i thought i'd best make a new thread rather than add my message to the vigil thread, for example, as it might not otherwise get noticed.. yesterday afternoon i was allowed home from the hospital - but only until wednesday morning!
as many of you will know, i have been in christie cancer hospital in manchester, england, ready to undergo a stem cell transplant (in my case, stem cells taken from my blood to be returned later).

I hope the chemo goes ok for him tomorrow. He had such a miserable week being weaned off the steroids and morphine, and then to have the lung infection on top of it <sigh> ...

What a fantastic facility!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't know about this, and I go there every day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so impressed I sent him one myself. As you have probably guessed, it's Claire here. Ian's on antibiotics at the moment as they've found an infection lurking in his lung.Chemo probably starts Monday. He's going to be SO MADE UP with your thoughts and wishes and cards and egreetings. I'll tell you now, he'll be in floods of tears. Thank you so much Marjorie for your detective work on the Christie website. You've certainly come up trumps!! Love to you all Clairexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I looked around the Christie Hospital site, and I am very impressed with the services they offer. This e-greeting feature is such a wonderful idea! I am excited that Ian will be able to hear from us so soon.
