what article was it when you were a witness that was the most complicated for you to understand?
i remember that there were a right few beaut's, dad being the wt conductor, of course we had to go through the finer detail getting to the most indepth meaning and how it linked up.
hmmmmmmm.. what was your worst watchtower study ever then?
i remember who my husband was before we were recruited, you know what i mean, his humor, his daringness.
i am sure i changed also but only to an extent because i had to many doughts.
as i quickley ran from the cult ,i could sit back and see the person that i married into the person that the watchtower created.
Even now my mind goes back to that person i fell in love with and the change that has taken him from me.
My heart goes out to you. Have you ever told him how you feel? It's so poignant and sad it seems as if it would just melt (or break) his heart.
Do you mind if I ask what kind of religous background (if any) the two of you had when you were recruited? Was there anything in particular that helped you leave?
The elder and his wife who came to see us last year were both recruited as adults, and it made me feel so sad for them. They have been in the organization for many years now, and they are True Believers.

I make a point of visiting this thread every day - umpteen times a day - and I'm always overwhelmed by the mere fact that people genuinely care.
Mouthy's subject heading says it all.

if you're a dunderhead on neo-babylonian history (like me) you've probably remained totally clueless whenever the subject of the chronology leading to back 607 b.c.
since i had nothing better to do today, i decided to finally take the time it takes to understand why dub chronology on that date is wrong.
this piece of information alone should give you a clue about how bored i am!.
AlleymomThe Society's literature has simply given the traditional chronology for the Neo-Babylonian dynasty and this cannot be construed as an endorsement of this traditional chronology, The Society has not yet presented a reconstruction of this period but has assigned different beginnings for these kings such as the begiinning of Neb's first year. If you follow the current reigns for the dynasty then you would have a twenty year differnece because precedence has been for the the dynasty over and above the seventy year period. It is the seventy year prophecy that spoils the plot and not the length of the Babylonian period. However, one must make a personal choice and as I have said time and again the whole matter comes down to methodology, sevent years or the dynasty?

I'm afraid I don't understand what you are saying in the first sentence. The WT literature I cited says that each king reigned for so many years ( or months). Are you saying that information is incorrect? If you read the articles you will see that the Society was not saying, "Here is the traditional chronology, but we do not endorse it." No, not at all. The articles say that King So-and-So ruled "x" years, and they present this as factual information. Are you saying this information from the Society is not accurate?
You said: "However, one must make a personal choice". Why should someone have to make a personal choice as to which WT literature to believe in regard to the chronology? Are you saying that you have made a personal choice not to believe the WT literature which presents information on the dynasties? Suppose I choose to believe the information in the WT articles which give the regnal lengths for the kings. Are you saying I would be wrong to believe those articles?

Is the information given in the WT literature cited in the following post accurate and trustworthy, in your opinion?
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/55372/807453/post.ashx#807453
If you use information about the neo-Babylonian kings found in WT literature and count backwards from 539 BCE you do NOT arrive at 607 BCE for the destruction of Jerusalem.
--- Is the starting date of 539 BCE accurate?
--- Is the information about the reigns of the kings given in the WT literature accurate?
--- If the starting date is accurate and the information about the reigns of the kings is accurate, then we ought to arrive at 607 BCE by counting backwards. But we don't. How do you explain this?
