it's been a long time since i posted here but i often read your messages when ian (dansk) logs on.
as most of you will know, ian will be going back into hospital on monday for an allogeneic stem cell transplant and will be away from the forum for a good few weeks (hopefully he'll be back home within 4-6 weeks).
last time he was in hospital many of you sent messages to his ward and i know they cheered him up immensely.
Hi everyone I'M HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm tired, a bit rocky on the old legs but fighting to go. I have to take it easy and must attend the hospital clinic twice a week. 50% of patients who receive this treatment end up back in hospital within the first two weeks. I'm hoping I'm in the other 50%
A BIG thank you to all who sent e-mails, cards and a sweatshirt! Your words were so comforting. I love you guys!!
I can't promise to post as regularly as in the past for the moment, but once I regain my strength I'll be back more frequently.
Thank you so much for keeping Claire and I in mind and for your helping her. Claire has suffered as much as I.
Love to you ALL,
Ian

Ian's update..... Saturday evening. Infection in the line. He's feeling particularly rough and has a temperature. He reckons he'll be in for another 2 weeks. He feels like a caged bear, but hasn't got the energy to roar. However, he still wants to be remembered to all!.
Sorry I haven't got better news or a home date to report.

Choose HTU in the box for which ward, and type in Ian's full name, Ian Hinze.

Sorry to hear about the infection !
Please tell Ian we are thinking of him.
Try to take care of yourself, sweetie. We know this is very stressful for you. {{{ Claire }}}}

Keep those e-greetings coming! It only takes a few moments.
You can write a few lines to say hello and wish Ian well or, if you are at a loss for words, you can just paste in some jokes or a poem.
The Christie Hospital must be wondering why Ian is getting so much fan mail.
