  Working from Home - Ideas?

  i am looking to work from home.

  do any here have any ideas of how i can get into this?

  i've thought about the medical transcripts, but don't know who to contact.

  yoyo - the one home working project that's likely to be available is telesales - usually stuff like double glazing and home improvements

  it's thankless work which requires high levels of self-motivation - experience as an active JW would no doubt convince an employer to give you a try - being used to rejection but still carrying on that is ...

  i understand that they pay your telephone bill and pay you for each lead that results in a sale - but like i said - thankless work - try ringing local companies from the yellow pages to see if they would consider a homeworker

  Business Territory

  business territory in the 1960s and 1970s: when i was first associated in the late 1960s, it was common to see jws roaming the streets of downtown districts, offering the magazines.

  sometime in the early 1970s, after i had been a jw for a few years, we worked businesses directly.

  this was especially true when certain events were newsworthy - such as the persecution of jehovah's witnesses in malawi.

  never done business territory work but often did street work here in the uk and enjoyed it more than any other type of 'service' - was great to get to actually speak to people and the real beauty was you could work alone - without having to listen to the pathetic attempts of others in trying to 'sell' magazines ...

  Wal-Mart Shoppers..we have a pervert on #6

  attention wal-mart shoppers, we have a pervert at check out 6.. you never want to stand behind me when im in line at a supermarket checkout line.

  today was no exception.

  i had finished my weekly grocery shopping and bought a few items for around the house as well as a new dvd that was on sale.

  Enjoying the 5 senses

  as many of you know, i struggle from time to time with depression and even suicidal thoughts.

  i was thinking yesterday that the next time i get to feeling that way i would remember very simple things that bring me great joy and tie those to a sensory experience that i can bring up in my mind to remind me of how good life really is to snap me out of those deep foul moods.

  so here are my 5.. taste -- the taste of my mother's pecan cookies warm out of the oven.. smell -- the smell of my yard after a spring rain.. sight -- the sight of the north georgia mountains' fall leaves.. sound -- the heart touching songs from les miserables.. touch -- the feel of getting my back scratched by mitch.. please feel free to add your 5.. hugs.

  i have no sense of smell - plus - i am hyper-sensitive to solvents - especially strong perfumes and aftershaves - the number of times i appealed to the elders to do something about the hideously overwhelming smell that emanated from that kingdom hall - especially thursday evenings - dripping with expensive (and cheap) manufactured smells they were ... what were they trying to cover up huh ? ... i always went home with a seriously bad headache ...

  no more :)

  An Internet "witness" is a person who delights in sowing discord on the Internet. S/he tries to start arguments and upset people.
  Witnesses see Internet communications services as convenient venues for their bizarre game. For some reason, they don't "get" that they are hurting real people. To them, other Internet users are not quite human but are a kind of digital abstraction. As a result, they feel no sorrow whatsoever for the pain they inflict. Indeed, the greater the suffering they cause, the greater their 'achievement' (as they see it). At the moment, the relative anonymity of the net allows witnesses to flourish.

  Witnesses are utterly impervious to criticism (constructive or otherwise). You cannot negotiate with them; you cannot cause them to feel shame or compassion; you cannot reason with them. They cannot be made to feel remorse. For some reason, witnesses do not feel they are bound by the rules of courtesy or social responsibility.

  Perhaps this sounds inconceivable. You may think, "Surely there is something someone can write that will change them." But a true witness can not be changed by mere words.

  hmm now thats interesting ... i'm sure i've seen these words before somewhere ...
