  Wasted Life Story..The Uncaring Husband 1.2.02WT

  this is the wasted life story from the feb 1 2002 wt.. i would have entitled it the uncaring husband........ this guy gets married in 1954. tragically his wife has to have an operation to remove a brain tumor in 1957. this leaves her in a fairly desperate state.. as a result, my wife was left partially paralysed , and her speech center was badly affected.

  now a whole set of complicated challenges arose for both of us.

  even the simplest task became a major obstacle for my dear wife.

  i too thought the gate and resultant three year coma was ironic ...

  i think maybe you are being a little too hard on this guy, but i must admit, when i read it, this very morning - i was aghast at one comment:

  After finding his (at that time) fiancee had a brain tumour he said "what was i supposed to do in this situation? In view of the changed circumstances, should i end the engagement and set myself free? No! With my betrothal, I had made a promise and I wanted my yes to mean yes."

  i thought that if he was so committed - why did he even think to say such a thing - was this perhaps a freudian slip ?

  Pagan or not pagan, that is my question.

  i have been trying to figure out whether or not i am a pagan.. i looked in several dictionaries and now i'm really confused.. one says a pagan is one who has more then one god, another says that all religions that predate all existing religions are pagan.

  christians say everything except christianity is pagan.

  i'm beginning to wonder just what the word actually means, if anything.. christians use the word with distane, others seem to rejoice in using the word to describe themselves.

  Please help me understand a JW dream

  please help me understand this jw dream.. my therapist once told me that dreams are one of the ways that our subconscious mind have of telling us something emotionally urgent about ourselves.

  as i had a dream last night that really aroused my feelings, i was wondering if anyone cared to take a stab at what it is trying to tell me?.

  the dream.... i find myself at an indoor circuit assembly.

  the WTBTS - Its own insurance agency?

  doing a watchtower search on googles.com, i came across not a few sites/hmo's listing the insurance companies they accept and listed among quite a few was watchtower bible tract society.

  does the society have an internal health insurance agency?

  i asked my boyfriend about this and he said that in order for that to be the case, a company has to have plenty of money and usually does this to be able to specify its own coverage, i.e., no blood transfusions.

  Blood Show on Discovery Channel

  did anyone happen to catch the show on the cable tv discovery health channel this past weekend about blood?

  i tuned in mid-way through it, just in time to see them covering bloodless surgery planned for a jw woman.

  the patient was a very heavy, diabetic woman who needed heart surgery.. what i found interesting was that the patient refered to herself as a "jehovah witness" (sic) while the narrator of the program used the correct pronounciation.

  My Mum, Demons, The Watchtower & MGM

  a couple of years ago, on the old h2o, i posted something called my demon story which told a story, back in the seventies, of a supposed demon attack on a family known to me.

  the point of the story was in fact that the only demons involved were self-supplied from this particular sisters hysterical, over-active imagination.. during the course of that story, i said.

  i dont think even at my most faithful and zealous that i ever took the demon stories seriously.

  hey duncan, thank you for the wonderfully atmospheric narrative ...

  i suffered from very bad dreams as a kid - mostly due to losing both my brothers in motor accidents ... i wonder how much worse it could have been to have had the cold comfort of the borganisations view of life after death and demons flying around our heads ... luckily for me, my parents were not as easily taken in as i was later in life ...

  New Light ~*~*~Armageddon WAS in 1975 !

  y'know, i was thinking - what if armageddon actually did come in 1975 ... i mean everyone was told to expect it and did so right ?

  therefore it's only fitting that we find some way of saying it actually did happen .... is this really any different to changing the understanding of the 1914 armageddon into christ's presence ... ahem ... i mean, we could even say that we had an armageddon in 1914 too, then everyone could be right.

  in fact we could have an annual armageddon .... so are we the survivors into the new world ?

  goodnews - i just crunched your numbers with biblemans numbers and broke the mathmatical equations down to iir2 .. let me double check the algebra ... x2 + x + 41 = prime number - xerxies x nabonidus + daniel 360 = jesus pies are squared.

  .. yep works every time .. break an equation down far enough and out pops old iir2.
