  Does the faithful slave exist?

  i have known a few anointed and a few bethlites.

  after researching pubilcations and the watchtower websites i belife the faithful slave does not exist in a tangible form and is a ghostwriter for the entire org.

  everything is subcontracted from mostly the great crowd now billed as corespondants.

  Basically in laymans terms we are an "unethical" religion. Booo Hooo this is war. There are going to be casualties on both sides.

  I find it quite sad that you have come to a point where you believe it is a Christian point of view to be deceitful. I also find it amazing you think it is alright to bend "the truth" to your liking as long as you gain adherents. Jesus never changed what he taught just to enhance the number of people following...even at 1 John 2:21 it is counseled.

  21 I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth.

  Also, wasn't it taught that one of the discerning traits of a Christian is love for both enemy & friend (Mt. 5:44)? To talk about people as if they are "casaulties" shows no thought for them or their lives...whoever called you a troll definitely hasn't been out of line...

  "Lift up the phone and make a call". If you have to have this S P E L L E D out for you, you must be stupid. I mean, think about it!

  Well, they certainly do not want to have you use the Internet...you might find a lower price on Expedia or even stumble across an evil apostate website!

  Who is going to be at your funeral?

  she is concerned about what other people may think i guess.

  I don't have this conversation because my friends who are Witnesses have 'lovingly' shunned me...

  However, if I did then I would just mention Hebrew 11:37-40...many of you might not be Christians anymore & we definitely aren't prophets but the principle of the scripture hits home for all who have openly disagreed with the WTS:

  37 They were stoned [6] ; they were sawed in two; they were put to death by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated-- 38 the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and in caves and holes in the ground.
  39 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. 40 God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

  I wouldn't be looking for who attends my funeral because that doesn't matter to me...what matters is how I am considered in God's eyes and his eyes alone.

  when i returned to the jw's a few years ago, i was on drugs.

  years, but one especially heavy acid trip sent me searching for god, and i thought i found him with the dubs.

  I've been toking on the bong for only about six months...in that span of time, I decided to visit apostate sites, take a look at Crisis Of Conscience, disassociate myself, and now I actually enjoy my weekends at clubs & such.

  Your Best / Worst attribute....

  be honest.. i'll start.. my best is i'm a good boy at work.

  i look after my staff well, and give my all in looking after my patients on the ward.

  thats important to me.. my worst is i'm getting ever increasingly self centered and selfish as i'm getting older.

  Worst attributes: I have a horrible tendency to look at people's flaws before looking at what is good in them. Also, I am very nice to people I know but I act skittish around new people (especially girls...thanks WTS!).

  Best attributes: Even in my own humble opinion, I am particularly savvy for my age and I love listening to people (whether they are talking about good things or bad).

  Can a Skeptic believe in God?

  recently i got the winter edition magazine of the ontario skeptic news and found a great six page article on "can a skeptic believe in god?

  and what a great read it was, some of the points were well versed.

  it went into some detail of believers and non believers arguing about god, what i found interesting was how at the end of the argument both sides would have felt they had won the argument.

  The problem I find with people is that they tend to think that being skeptical of something is automatically bad. I would think that if you never had any doubts then your faith is like a house of cards that can be blown over at any time by the slightest debate...

  COMING OUT PARANOIA?

  hi - all these posts re "coming out" seem kind of paranoid or,what's the word or phrase, like delusions of grandeur, i mean no offense with this but it just seems like few jws would care who you are - at least now they wouldn't care if you done left already - am i missing something?

  "No offense" but isn't this the second time you have posted in a manner as to insult people here under the 'guise of just trying to find out more information about Witnesses? If you truly want to find out why so many people have such strong feelings about not being a Witness anymore then I suggest actually doing an academic study about the religion by reading a few books that study the doctrines & traditions about Witnesses...but don't post about people sounding paranoid and then try to say "no offense". It is insulting to call someone even borderline paranoid if you haven't ever been in their situation and haven't taken enough steps to even understand what they are going through...

  On topic now...I do agree that some are overly anxious about posting here. However, I do remember more then a few posters saying how people have reported them to elders & family members for finding out that they posted here. When you have so much to lose (association with family members & friends, the loss of your reputation) then it is understandable that you might be skittish about even perusing a message board like this.

  They won't. That 4/1 article on the Wild Beast will be all the explanation they need...elders will use that generic article to cover any further annoying questions about the UN situation.
