What can you say...football is turning into a very cyclical game as far as success goes because of free agency so it is apparent that Green Bay is soon to be in that ugly "rebuilding" stage.

What's Up with Prince??
by Flash inby jake coyle, associated press writer
new york - prince, now a jehovah's witness, has toned down his mojo, but the purple one can still pack a political punch.
his new music video, "cinnamon girl," is a big-budget production that follows the hardships and confusions of a teenage arab-american girl in a post 9-11 america.

It's Prince's mojo that I think will eventually derail him as a JW. You can only deny your true nature for so long and then it just starts to ooze out of you from every pore.
Prince is a very passionate and sensual person. He is going against that to be a prim and wholesome brother *gag*.
I disagree because you also have to factor in that many times the elders & Society use a different standard when it comes to the wealthy & famous. Unless Prince does something so heinous that it would bring enormous reproach on the WTS itself, I doubt he will be derailed as a JW. Now, if he gets conflicted and decides to leave it will be different...

WT New Building Proposed in Brooklyn Turned Down

Just why do they need to build on this land anyway?
Its been vacant for 12 years because they had to cancel plans to build new printing facilities. Also they have an empty building at Adams St.
1,000 bedrooms, 2,500 seat hall, 1,600 seat cafeteria, 1,100 parking ??? What where they planning for?
If you have ever studied the property that the Witnesses own in Brooklyn Heights, you know it is extremely valuable & coveted by many people. Many of the residential complexes have been restored beautifully and I am pretty sure that if the Society finally consolidated their residential spaces then they would sell those restored properties at a very pretty profit.
I am glad that this proposal got struck down...even when I was a JW, I knew enough about the architecture & neighborhood fabric of Brooklyn Heights to see that the WTBS was a hindrance in that neighborhood. People don't like the JW's there because the WTBS isn't a good neighbor...

I would love to say that life is all great and happy now that I found the truth about "the truth"...but it is a mixed bag of emotions for me. Somedays, when I am studying about politics or listening to music that some JW would of disapproved of, I feel so happy that I left behind the silly superstitions of Jehovah's Witnesses. However, many days I feel bitterness for being denied all the things that other people my age did while they were kids, I get depressed because I have no one to just talk to about my feelings (and thus, I internalize a lot of things), I feel rejected because I have trouble making friends with people my own age. In a way, being raised a JW has prematurely made me an old man in many of my tastes and yet I am like a child when it comes to social interaction with people...
Would I disassociate myself again if I had a way of repeating things? In a heartbeat, I feel at peace spiritually for the first time in a long long time. Less stressed though? Not right now...readjusting to the real world has been a hard experience for me.

Maybe she needs to be taught why this time of year is called hurricane season...there just might be a chance that more then one hurricane strikes in awhile. Also, it isn't like it is the first time that this many major storms came in such a short span of time...

The fear returns
by Purza inso my daughter (14 y/o and i will call her r) finds out some girl at school is a jw.

I think that many times we have a tendency to make a situation more dramatic then need be...I am not being insensitive or making light of your situation but instead trying to maybe come out with another point-of-view:
It just seems that this girl at school just got too excited that she met another person even involved with JWs. I remember when I went to school that even finding an ex-witness who might be a potential friend was great because I didn't have anyone else at school to talk with. Also, remember that many younger JWs are sorta in a time warp regarding privacy & such...she might not of even thought that it is rude to look up someone's phone number and call them because she figured that a fellow JW wouldn't mind a call.
Remember, most of us here (as former witnesses) see the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society for what it is but the vast majority of actual JWs don't...including the younger teens most of all. If the girl calls again then be polite...don't make an enemy out of her because she isn't. She is just misdirected, that is all...now, make sure your own child knows about all the tricks that the Witnesses might use. But don't alienate the JW girl...who knows, if she sees that not all ex-JWs are evil "worldy" people then she might be more open to you then you would think.
