did any of you see this movie?
i thought it was a pretty good movie.
i am curious to hear what other people thought of it.
I really did enjoy every minute of the film. I think the filmmaker was trying to recreate that feeling, that very peculiar feeling, of being in a busy place, things happening all around you, but being isolated, the only one on the outside. I got a few jokes that others didn't, too, since I understood the Japanese. The film triggered a lot of memories for me. I was very much "in the now" for the whole film. The film is not about a story so much as about a feeling, an experience.

i wonder if a person could get away with suing the watchtower for stressful thinking and loss of life.
because if you think about it, it's illegal to tell people what to do (slavery), but they claim that everyone has the right mind and that they aren't telling anyone what to do.
i wonder if you could get it suggested by the courts that wts tries to control through written language in the watchtower magazine or somethin, iono.
The WTBTS...continue to grow bigger and more prosperous each day.
I seriously doubt that that is what is happening. I think the numbers show that they've reached their apex and are on the way down. The only way they managed to squeek a little "growth" this past year was with the new 15-minute-a-month publisher arrangement. I'm confident that we're going to have actual negative growth numbers (or outright lying) in a couple years.

Sorry, I haven't got a caption, but I do remember getting weird looks offering this one out in service. Someone pointed out to me that in many countries, you have a better chance of getting struck by lightening than being kidnapped. I remember looking kind of sheepish and saying, "....Well, it's good article. Would you like to take a look at it?"

it's about time they had show centering around lesbians!
Haven't seen the show, so I can't comment on that, but at the very least, perhaps it represents another step in more liberal attitudes gaining broad acceptance. If they have to use a bunch of pretty girls to keep the hetero males interested in it, then fine. It still helps people to begin accepting same-sex unions. The faster we can do away with religiously inspiried animosity and prejudice, the better. Hopefully this show reflects changing attitudes.

i only know a handful of witnesses, but i do know several ex-witnesses.
all of them left in their late teens, which (as i've read here) is pretty common.
i know there are a lot of people here who left later in life.
Baptised at 14. Boughts of serious doubt at 18, 23, 24, 25. Each time I got myself together and struggled on. Out at 25 and a quarter. Official at 25 and a half. Wish I would have figured it out sooner.

I would say the great danger to meeting attendance is that they utterly destroy meaningful existence if you finally succumb to the teachings. Walking into one is like entering a pressure-cooker where you'll be exposed to one-sided arguments, lots of emotional blackmail, and threats regarding your everlasting future. Sounds like about the riskiest thing you could possibly do.
