How to reason with someone who has all the answers?
by smurfette inalot if not all of you have beat your head against the wall of jw dogma spewing forth from a loved one.
i'm hoping some of you may have come up with some good answers to some of it or maybe even something profound enough to get through and actually change a jw mind or two.. i'm specifically looking for points to bring up regarding da-ing and df-ing, and why it's wrong.
i'm dealing with the extremly set in her ways, new world translation or nothing sort of jw, just waiting to brand me an apostate.

me and my woman's goin thru a situation like that w/ one of her friends. I just told her what the real meaning of friends and family are, and if they are Disfellowshipped and she doesn't talk to them somewhat like normal i would be pissed and tell her to bounce on. Its effective to be nice, but stern.

Home school
by Globetrotter inmy son told me the other day that he and his sister are just about the only kids at the kh their age that go to public/private schools.
almost all the other kids are home-schooled.
i was rather shocked.

i know a lot of JW kids that were homeschooled and they're not the brighest kids in my congregation. my g/f was also homeschooled, but she's a bit smarter than the average bear.

my friends did that were jw. i also had a problem of making a lot of my friends wet the bed by the warm water trick oh, and if they didn't wet the bed i'd make sure the bed was wet for them in the morning to wake up to

man...i can just imagine about all the beer and sex though. i mean geez, its everyone's dream!! all that other stuff sounds good, but wow, beer and sex.................
oh and drugs. extacy and acid wouldn't eat your brain away, so everything would be healthy for you!!!!!!!!!!! YAY! hehehe

I outgrew the "truth"
by micheal inas the saying goes, "you only live once".
with that, after being a witness for 15 years it was just time to move on to something else.. .
yes i believe the witnesses do not have the ultimate truth as they believe they do, which helped in my decision to move on.

Doing law...
by Max Divergent inwhile in a rare posting mood, may i just brag say that i scored the 99th percentile (top 1%) in the australian law school admission test of all candidates since 1996 recently!!!
i start the 3-year graduate course at deakin uni part-time external in next month.. i think there are some other budding lawyers out there too...whom shall we sue?

just go up to your local kingdom hall and tell them you are interested in obtaining information about "the troof", but you want that specific magazine because you found the title interesting. then ask them for a bible study, but send them to one of your friends house as a joke, hehe (just kiddin, thats mean)

Got me bloody well thinking...
by Max Divergent ini was visiting at a hospital and was in the elevator with a patient who was being transfused with a bag of bright red blood on the way back from an operation; i was mildly surprised to see the patient was old sister barbara who used to have our book study at her house!
i guessed it was cell saver blood as it's deemed ok against acts 15, but it was still weird to see a sis getting a blood transfusion.
it got me to thinking how a simple statement in acts (and the other scriptures) could be the source of so many (illogical but un-challengeable/un-discussable) rules and fine distinctions (enforced by strict penalties) as defined and amended from time to time in the watchtower...

i was told by some other elder that it was okay to take purified cows blood because it was becoming a common practice. so whatever happened to them using "you must drain a carcass' of all its blood before you consume it" (something to that effect). I like the laughs, it makes my day brighter.
