what would you put in room 101
by helenhall inthings are pretty heavy in my life right now, so thought i would post something just for fun.
on the tv programme you are allowed to put 3 things into room 101 that you hate and would like to see the back off, forever, so what 3 things would be top of your list.
mine.

1 - FAST FOOD
It is bad for you and it is the cause of much litter on our streets.
2 - CARS/PRIVATE MOTORIZED TRANSPORT
Just imagine the world without them. Local economies would flourish, quiet streets, families living closer to each other. Endless benefits.
3 - PERFUME
Does that stuff get right up my nose. -

Worst Kingdom Melody lyrics- your votes?
by JimmyPage inmy votes for worst kingdom melody lyrics: song 125- "jehovah is on my side" (try singing these lyrics without laughing like beavis and butthead): "i know that in this crucial hour my faith will yet be tested/ around me swarms the devil's crowd like bees that were molested/ but i can ever beat them off beneath divine protection/ on those who love to bear his name god sets his deep affection.
" or how about song 201- "rejoicing with god's nation" (grab your thesaurus for this one): "in a land so good and spacious/ free from strife and things vexatious/ look!
a happy crowd vivacious/ in god's service that is efficacious.

My goodness Samuel Thorsen that has to be one of the most torturous things I have heard in years. What the hell happens at about 2.20. Shocking. -

WHAT if we're wrong?
by shell69 ini mean, i know i'm bitter.. normally these days quite strong, not feeling so much so much the last few days though.. what i'd give to do the things i was used to.
going doing the weekly shop with my mum, her popping round for a brew in the morning.. a hug from her, just to to know from the way she communicated with me, that she loved me.
i miss her so much.. and what if i'm wrong?.

I may be wrong in what I now believe, but I have made my choices with honest and good intentions. If God chooses to punish me for that, so be it. If I have to fathom riddles and jump through hoops to to be one of the select prizewinners - you can keep it.

I dreamed I was an ACTIVE WITNESS
by berylblue inin my maidenform bra.. .
don't know what made me remember that old ad.. .
if you're old enough to remember those stupid maidenform advertisements, you're old enough to remember some really bad ads.....sheesh, and the men's rights activists complain about how men are portrayed as dummies in commercials?

I have had the reverse. When I was a witness I used to have this recurring dream that I had smoked a cigarette (I used to smoke before I was a witness). I would wake up so depressed and scared. What a ridiculous hold this religion has on your mind.

My home Town
by Peppermint inthere was a time when i understood where i came from.
most people from my hometown would have similar goals and aspirations.
it has always been diverse and welcoming to outsiders, but now i feel like the outsider and not particularly welcome myself.

Exactly what I meant Sad Emo. But pray tell why do you think I is a She, actually everyone seems to confuse me as such on here. No offense taken but I am starting to get worried. -

Bible belt in america and the amish?
by chikikie inhi when i watch tv esp american tv shows about the bible belt and amish communities, just wondered if anyone out there lived near those areas and did you door to door witness and was it easy??.
.
just curious..

I was always jealous of those sorts of places. The big gaps between houses equals more hours and less actual witnessing.

"do you feel that way about Europeans that migrate to other countries outside of Europe?"
I don't like divisive communities. If you move to another country you must share in that country's aspirations and goals. If you move to a place yet are opposed to the way it is but move there all the same because it is financially rewarding I feel that is wrong.
"What is your solution?"
The new system. What else(Joke). Who knows. Perhaps a ban on air travel coupled with politicians that look after their people(unrealistic waffle). -

"our biggest cultural shift has been caused by the large numbers of southerners moving up here lol!"
So thats where they are all going.

"There are people with similiar issues in the US"
As I said some immigration is good. Not sure if you mean I have issues with it, as in a narrow minded way. Maybe I misunderstand you. The way I see it, if a large portion of a failing country leave to better themselves somewhere else thats good for them, but bad for their country. Who's left to build up it's economy? Better to stay put and make your homeland a going concern. -

Thanks Sad Emo for your comments and for making my link clickable.
I understand the point you are making, and I agree that just because people are like you and you understand them does not mean that there is not an ugly side to them.
I am not thinking in racist terms when I think back to the town I grew up in and compare it to the town it is today. I like diversity, it brings many positives to a community. What I don't like is when a way of life and a society has been radically changed in just a few years. A slow absorption of cultures is something that has worked and has benefited everyone . What I see now is something completely differnt.
