What is the most hours you ever turned in on your F.S. report?
by gaiagirl ini once turned in 39 hours helping another to reach their pioneer goal.
fairly accurate reporting of the hours as well.

My most hours was 12, this was also my first report. On average I did about 2-5 hours per month which depressed me at the time and made me feel pathetic.

The End of Circuit Overseers
by scotsman inis indeed apparently nigh as another poster predicted along with the end of the weekly bs.
not sure when this should take place but i'm reliably informed by a family member that one of the uk's overseers was talking about it fairly recently.
reduced to weekend visits by an outside but local elder instead.. i have no further info..

"If there were no C/O's then congs could drift into doing their own thing."
Not if they were under the control of the new professional elder.

Without doubt "The New Believers" by David. V. Barrett. I found it helpful because it was not specifically about the Witnesses. It showed how the witnesses were just like so many others religions from history or even today. I found it very balanced and without religious prejudice or personal opinion, a failing in so many books.

Has a song "GRABBED" at you pulling your soul in?
by FreedomFrog init doesn't happen to me much but when it does i can't get enough.... i was driving home from a friends house trying to figure out how to work out my finances/home/college/kids and then the song "eye of the tiger" came on.. i've heard this song many times.
this was one of my fave's growing up but it didn't catch my soul like it did tonight.
i was in awe to the point of needing to hear it 6 times already.

I think I'm a Ghost
by Peppermint inyou know how ghosts are often portrayed in films etc.
as those who are unable to move on, spirits that linger in the world they were once a part of, possibly because they have some unfinished business with the world they left behind.
well to me that is how i view my life - i'm aware of the fact that i think way too much about my previous life as a jw.

"They reflect on their thirties as well. They mourn the loss of youth. They shudder when they realize they are only 20 or so years away from 60. They review accomplishments, face regrets and face the inevitability of aging. It's a sobering yet necessary assessment we all must do"
Midlife crisis!!! not me. Insanity is my problem, don't you know I'm going to live forever - My looks will never fade, my hair will never fall, I will remain the envy of them all.
Seriously FHN, there is probably some truth in what you say. I will look over that thread and see if i can find some wisdom to go along with my old age. -

Oompa - "Even ghosts have a purpose though, maybe we should go make some noise!....scare some people?"
Thanks for your comments oompa and I'm always available for a bit of Kingdom hall haunting. -

"Peppermint, were you raised a JW? If not, give it time. Also, try to reconnect with your former life. Go back to doing the healthy things that the JW's took from you.
If you were raised as a JW? I don't know what to tell you. Perhaps people who were raised JW's can tell you how to move on.
I don't hardly think about life as a JW."
FHN - My mum was a JW but not my dad, we were banned from going to meetings but had a study every week, went to my first meeting at about 15. So I never really had a former life to return to. Left at about 35 so thats the best years of my life spent in polyester examining door furniture. It's an interesting point you raise though, it does seem easier for people who are converted to move on - its easier to damage a young mind I guess.
Wednesday - Thanks for the links
Jaguarbass - "The lazy streak in me that allowed me to kick back and go to meetings allows me to kick back and post here instead of doing something more meaningfull."
I have that lazy streak also, so I may be here for some time yet. -

"How long have you both been out now?"
About 5 years
"There are a number of wonderful people where you are from here on the board, try to meet up with them"
This is the point really, Is it healthy to immerse yourself totally in being an ex-jw? after a while maybe it adds to the problem. perhaps I should look for a ex-ex-jw board. -

Thanks Hope4Others. Good advice.
I am not unhappy or down about my life in any way but I do realize that I need to move on. My wife for instance left the "Truth" at the same time as me. She went from witness of 35 years to worldling with no major upheaval at all. She holds no grudges and does not even mention to work colleagues her past. I guess it comes down to personality types in the end.
