Even though I hated this religion from a small child, and could never bring myself to get baptized because I felt it was bullshit, but I don't think I could ever give blood; not because I believe the doctrine but just its a touchy subject inside my core. The subject creeps me out. -

I think CAPYTAN said it best; that he is sympathetic to the Muslim faith due to his father being a Muslim, but remember he was brought up by his super white Grandparents. It's part of the Right Wing Republican machine to try to discredit Obama whenever they can. He and his wife are very intellectual people and are tolerant of all faiths. Right wing nuts hate the fact that he a smooth smart guy that most people outside the States love the guy.
Why don't they talk about all the stupid things Bush did in office.

Cappytan,
Get your shit together please, how long do you want to go through with this charade. You know your wife well, have you thought of what her reaction will be when you tell her you want out of this living hell? Furthermore, your kids, you know them, what will their reaction be? I think you should start by slowly understanding your kids and if they want to quit, they might surprise you by jumping with joy that you guys are getting out, then you start to work on your wife.

Is Watchtower's stance against education only for North American witnesses
by wannaexit ini was reading on a european ex jw forum where some feel that watchtower's railing against higher education is primarily for north america issue.
this is due that many in usa and canada leave home to leave on campus.
it was mentioned that many young european jw attend universities and its not frowned on.. i found this odd because i heard what morris and losch said about education in italy.

Don't you all think that idea of not going to university started from the "end is so near" that we should not waist our time going. This mentality lead most JWs being blue collar workers. My siblings and I all went to college (20 years ago) and my dad which was an elder was happey to pay. My brother actually has a masters degree. It seems that things have radically moved towards being anti higher education. Maybe the GB feel that if 70% of JWs are university educated that they will lose their power over them.; remember, when the elders come up to you and wanted to talk to you they would always look down at you, they would feel they had power over you even if subliminally, but if you are a lawyer, doctor or big time corporate type this will be harder to do, Just my take.

Heaven,
Christoper Hitchens, lol, I have not heard that name in a long time, loved that guy. Anyhow, it's interesting to see the torture of so many in here. I grew up in the truth but for some reason It never touched me as deep as most of you here. As a matter of fact I could never bring myself to get baptized, which in retrospect was a good thing.
My mother and brother are still going so I still have a connection I guess. It must be so tough to have a spouse that you love still believing in it so much and you are thinking of leaving, I feel for you.
