now this is not a bush bashing thread, i think everyone here pretty much knows how i feel about the man, but there is quite a bit of controversy surrounding our president--just today even.

he is thinking of funding church groups that do volunteer work.

he was visiting a church in louisana today that has had a childcare program since 1941. he would like to see federal funds given to such organizations even if they are run by a church.

All of you have no idea what you are talking about. JW have always been a non-profit organization who only survive on voluntary contributions. This has been proven time and time again. Today religious organizations are taxed because they profit greatly off of the contributions that are made (sometimes mandatory contributions). JW are not taxed by the IRS because the work that they do is all voluntary and so are the contributions. The IRS has confirmed this time and time again. This also means that no one profits at all. Can you say that about other organizations? This just shows that they really are doing their work out of love for God and his word.

So why would you think that they would accept money from the Devil himself? They could easily get rich like other religions. If they haven't done it yet, why would they do it now.

Did you count them yourself or did you have someone else do it for you? I think you miss counted. You better do a recount just to make sure. So I guess that Jesus was wrong in approving a child getting milk from its mother. But of course you are much smarter than Jesus himself right? Finally we found someone who is smarter than the Son of God.

Why does the Society "go beyond what is written" re blood?

this may sound somewhat cynical, but i think the society has held to it's position on blood in order to create a never-ending supply of martyrs.

martyrs are needed for the society to hold up as shining examples of faith and devotion.

this sense of self-sacrifice helps them tow the line with regards to all of their insane rules.. wg

This is one of stupidest things that I have ever heard. You people really have no concept of the bible and it really shows because you would sit here and spend all day on this site and curse it. You people hate us so much that you would even take the time and build a website against us. What does that say about you people? This reminds me of what the apostle Paul wrote in Acts 20:28-30 Pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the holy spirit has appointed you overseers, to sheperd the congregation of God, which he purchased with the blood of his own son. I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among you and will not treat the flock with tenderness, and from AMONG YOU YOURSELVES MEN WILL RISE AND SPEAK TWISTED THINGS TO DRAW AWAY THE DISCIPLES AFTER THEMSELVES.

Most of the people on this site are ex-witnesses and therefore they represent the part FROM AMONG YOU YOURSELVES. Gods own people turn against his word. Why? Only YOU YOURSELVES know the answer to that.

Your negativety only gives me strength and more faith.

As far as breast feeding. Have you ever read the bible? Jesus himself approved of breastfeeding frequently. You have no concept of what you are talking about and it is pretty sad to see you try. It is like saying everytime you eat a protein bar that you are eating blood because protein is also found in the blood. I will pray for you and hope that you can be saved from your own insanity.

I think that your username says a lot about you and your opinions and where they originate. And yes it was widely transmitted by transfusions. Probably not the most but it was and still is transmitted that way. Yes even to this day it is still not %100 safe because our technology cannot keep up the mystery of our blood. Even though God said do not EAT the blood, he also said to ABSTAIN from it. Now when you abstain from something that does not mean that you try to find another way to put it into your body. If you ABSTAIN from drinking alcohol does that mean that you can inject it into your veins? I don't think so. Why is it that when you drink alcohol, you can also find the alcohol in your blood? Does it not also work in the opposite way? Does the blood not feed your stomach? What happens when you have an ulcer? Does not the blood enter your stomach? When you talk about ignorance I think it is best that you start with your own because you really have no knowledge about the bible or of your own body. God warned us to ABSTAIN from blood, not to find another way to put it into your body.

Why do you think that Jehovah would warn moses to abstain from blood? There is a reason. Look at all the diseases that have come from blood transfusions. millions of people get hepatis C and HIV every year because they take in blood. How do you think that HIV was mostly transfused in the 70's and 80's. No matter how advanced our technology gets the mystery of the blood always seems to be one step ahead of mankind. Even to this day blood transfusions are not %100 safe. It has also been proven that people who go through surgery and do not take blood actually have a faster recovery than those who do take blood. Why do you think that is? Well when you take somebody's blood your body naturally rejects it and has to fight off all the foreigne substances that are new. Also most blood transfusions are unnecessary.

So take the chance if you want to, but I will listen to Jehovah rather than jumping into something that we know nothing about. What is the next disease that will come from blood transfusions? These diseases are mutating at a rate that we cannot keep up with. Does anybody recall when the pope was shot? He had a blood transfusion and had to come back to the hospital because he recieved contaminated blood. There is more meaning to what Jehovah said than just the literal translation that you see and it makes so much sense. It just requires a little research and common sense.
