  Preaching Doom and Gloom in October?

  my ex husband (who is dfd but not a professsed apostate) told me yesterday that in october there is going to be a big push for preaching doom in service.. like the last chance to get people in before the end.. .

  has anyone else heard this?.

  i assume either his brother who is a dub or his mother have passed this on to him, in order to scare him to come back quick before everyone dies.. .

  Celebrating Birthdays--Disfellowshipping Offense--Where stated in WT pubs?

  where does it state that if a jw celebrates a brithday that it is a disfellowshipping offense.

  Anyone notice they never mention Job? He gave an offering to God on his childrens birthday to attone for their sins of the past year. But ofcoarse using the NWT you would not find that. XQ

  Who ARE the 144,00??

  there have been a couple of posts recently about the 144,000. since the wt theory is bogus, i ask the forum, "who are the 144,000"?

  i know the traditional view of some religions is that they are 144,000 literal jews who will convert near the gt to witness to the jewish population.

  not sure that makes a whole lot of sense to me.

  I believe that Triple A is correct in his thinking................I stand in agreement. God is not finished with the Jews, or the chosen ones, whether Jews or not. They are from the offspring of Abraham. I feel that the tribes of Israel and Judah are the two witnesses spoken of in Revelations, chapter 11. I further believe that they are going through the prophecies in revelation right now, and will soon be restored............then Jehovah will turn His attention to the nations. I do think that the number is literal, as the 42 months, and 1260 days are literal........only time will tell.

  Is it wrong to celebrate birthdays? Would it be the same as the father of the prodigal son throwing a feast upon his son's return? The only bad thing that can result is whether or not it is mixed with the worship of other God's. I would never knowingly celebrate something associated with a false God. I remain exclusive to the God of Abraham, and would never bring praise to another God.

  The WTS reasons on the fact that King Herod requested the head of John the Baptist on his wifes birthday (correct me if I am wrong). Of course this was bad, but would it be just as bad if a loved one was killed on a wedding anniversary? Would this prevent you from celebrating your anniversary? I am not convinced that a birthday celebration is wrong, but will refrain until I know it is not wrong. Can anyone shed some light?

  yesterday i tuned into espn sports radio and listened to a semi-political debate on several issues.

  when "same sex" marriage came up one of the talking heads refrained that "all marriages are same sex.

  " you get married and have the "same sex" over and over again!

  Hello Neo, and welcome.

  It was an eye opener for me when I discovered the untruths being taught by the WTS. Everytime I made an attempt to dig deaper and find a basis for my belief, all I would get was indirect answers. The elders would just make references to publications so that I can do my own research. I finally found out the actual truth from the internet. This was not even from so called apostate sites.

  When I opened my eyes to the real truth, I just left the WTS and never looked back. I believe that Jehovah will set matters straight regarding all peoples, and those sincere in heart might have a chance at everlasting life. I don't believe that this prospect belongs to only one religious teaching, but to those that actually love God. Whether you are considered Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, so on so forth, makes no difference, since no one religion knows everything there is to know about the bible. Soon everyone will know the truth when Christ comes to take his rightful position in the Kingdom of God.................till then, have a great day.

  all things being being equal, is the feminine gender endowed with more trancendent beauty than the masculine?

  before sending any stock replies like, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," let me just say that i acknowledge some degree of relative beauty insofar as man and woman bear their own distinctive perfections.

  but consider specifically which sex seems to bear more inherent grace to the end that it inspires our sense of harmony and desire to be more perfect ourselves.

  i am curious , especially since we have so many new ones here, as to how many actually left the organization because of this board or others similar to it.

  i certainly would hope that we are making a dent in the jw organization by what we do here......,

  Interesting question Dan, People at the KH only present themselves on the surface. A person does not really get to know a spiritual brother, or sister, unless they spend more time with them. I can say that I had only a few good friends from the KH. On this forum, I have not met anyone in person. So I have no idea what to think of them. As far as their comments and such, I think people have the tendency to be a little more critical of one another, especially since they are masked behind the computer screen. All in all, what I find interesting has to found someplace other than a chat forum. I prefer the true interaction of a "real" human being. Brownboy

  Women are most definitely the better looking of the genders. This is easy for me to say because I am male. I am sure that women have their own point of view. But this same fact would exist in both genders, this would be the fact that more and more, are losing their "inner beauty", and have become more self-centered, and unkind..............what a pitiful world.

  Is this your purpose in life mini cooper? Knowing the truth about certain teachings, and helping others to see the wrong, can be helpful in certain instances. However, you have nothing better to offer, so you are just bringing everyone down to nothing...............seems useless to me. BB
