when i was a kid i was scared shitless of demons.
a couple of years ago i posted this subject, and some asswipes just suggested that i was just a scared little boy and that i should have just kept a stiff upper lip.. i was raised in this crappy religion and i recall that from the very beginning, i was told that demons were always around me.
i remember as a young child, i was told of stories of children that would go to bed and feel the edge of their bed go down slowly as a demon sat on the edge of the bed, ready to do whatever eveil they had planned for the evening.
Well it was never quite like that. I never was afraid of the demons in that sense. Never thought they were in my room. But if I saw a movie I shouldn't have been watching. Then I was afraid and I would pray and I would feel better.
P.S. As you guys can tell from my posts. I'm the most confused chica on the planet.

and apparently "dear jesus" prayers are okay!
the watch tower says i can say, "dear jesus, you are my mediator as you are for all mankind..." "the bible clearly says that jesus christ is mankind's redeemer, so he is mankind's mediator.

Haven't they? I mean no other religion gets more scrutiny. And yet they still stand. Steadily increasing.

I just don't know why every is so adamant in finding mistakes and fault with the organization. Things change. Things improve. I mean think about how many things were believed years ago and today we think what were we thinking. Not even just saying religiously but in life in general. I mean I know a lot of you may have been truly unhappy. But I do still believe that the organization was truly loving and caring and put the congregation first. How many religions today can you say that about? I'm not here to preach to people. It's just frustrating that people are so down on the organization. We all have our rights to do what we feel best for ourselves. Right?
i was shocked one day when i was talking to a friend of mine who "disassociated" himself from the wt in the mid-80's and was heavy in the "apostate movement".
he told me that he is thinking about going back to the jw's and be "reinstated" but he was not sure if "disassociated" ex-jw's could be reinstated.
i thought he was joking at first because he was one of the people that helped me out of the wt.
Sassy. My mom feels the same way. I think the reason I got defensive is because that's what people think. That I just couldn't control my emotions. Or that I just wanted and needed a man so much that I would go through any means to do so. I'm single right now and I'm not trying to go back. I guess that's why I said that. It is so frustrating to try to explain to people especially family members why you've left or haven't tried to go back. Sorry for getting defensive.

I just wanted to say something about the comment that those that were DF'd for immoral reasons. Just because someone gets df'd it's not just because of the fact that couldn't control their impluses. Sometimes it's their way out. Sometimes they just realize that they can't live the life of being a JW anymore. It could be several different things. So don't just presume it's due to some weakness or etc. Sorry just wanted to clarify that.

what do you feel is the purpose of life?
I know. I will say there is a bit of freedom. But still there are some answer that need to be answered. I mean is this life really all there is? What the hades happens when we die? Then sometimes I think we will never know until we die. It's just so much for the mind and emotions to handle. Way too much. I have been on the roller coaster of my life since May. Some fun and some not.
over the weekend, i decided to get into a "bad" rock band that i wasn't allowed to listen to as a jw.
i chose to listen to tool/a perfect circle.
their lyrics are so fitting and so true for jwdom, i even wonder if maynard james keenan, the lead singer of both bands was once a jw.. here are some lyrics exceprts.. eulogy.

i seriously forgot many of the teachings of jw's.
the more i read your posts and do research on my own the more i realize how little i really know about the bible and jw teachings.. .
my question is this: if able and even enoch proved to be true followers of god even though imperfect why was it necessary for god to send his son to die for us?
Oh to the other questions I have no clue. No clue at all. I ask myself that at least once a day.

Actually, the reason why He had to send his son is so that we wouldn't have to make as many sacrifices for our sins. Jesus was sent to earth so that we wouldn't have to offer up sacrifices of produce and animals. Could you imagine burning a calf in your back yard now? Yeah wouldn't work out so well.
