I home schooled my children and both got into red brick universities but it definitely isn't for everyone.
My children are bright neither became JW's, they realised it was a cult before I did.

Wedding jitters
by sass_my_frass inokay, i've got the frock, got the man... got the guy to bring the papers, it's all sorted.
finalised the numbers, faxed off the menu, programmed the ipod, waxed the legs... and it's not saturday that scares me, i think it's going to be a hugely fun night.
it's the fifty or sixty years after that.

Perfectly natural to be nervous. Try not to take one another too foregranted and do those things that keeps love alive.
I was married for over twenty five years and its a great institution.
Best of Luck for Saturday and CONGRATULATIONS!!

I need advice, please help.
by lola28 ini went to meeting last night (don't ask) and someone asked me to go out in service.
i was taken by surprise and actually agreed to do street work on saturday.
the sister that i'm supposed to work with has always been very kind to me and i know that there is no one else in our hall that will go out with her on saturday morning.

You could ring her and politely say that you have a few personal things going off in your life at the moment and cant see your way clear to go in the field service for awhile. thank her for asking and wish her well. You dont have to explain yourself too much, the less said, probably the better.
take care

Do they still charge interest??
by happehanna in.
a few years ago i know that the wtbts charged 1% above base rate when a local congregation needed funds from the kingdom hall build fund which all had donated to.. does anyone know if this is still the case?.

If you were bullied at school for being a JW kid..
by mtbatoon in..would you thank the bullies now?.
i must admit that the social pressure was a large factor in my exiting.
though it was hell at the time i'd rather that than life as as dub now.

I wasn't bullied but I felt constantly out of place and very green.
I decided not to put my kids through that and taught them at home
thankfully they aren't damaged too bad and both left the JWs at the same time as myself a few years ago
why should kids suffer
as a kid I got left out of everything at school as they knew my parents never let me do anything
