thanks master member i do post late at night as i dont need a lot of sleep and their all in bed. I agree they dont understand it which is frightening. I leant crisis of conscience last week to somebody who i was a friend with 20 years ago and she stopped going a year ago because she knew something was wrong. Her immediated reaction is she doesnt understand a lot of it. as an elder i understood and related to every word

thanks. I actually know what you say is trus but it still doesnt make it eay when you realise you have een involved so deeply in teaching a lie to not only people on the ministry but also your kids.
To the person who said why did I leave. Although my wife had left one year earlier I tried to prove it was the truth to keep stong. However read crisis of conscience which blew my brain and answered all my secret doubts. Then read Christian Freedom, Gentile TImes, Last Days to confirm my conclusions.
I am currently writing my own life story. Temporarily titled Why didnt anyone ask? But dont know what I will do with it yet. Basically why didnt anybody ask me why I had left after 42 years. I know the anser now but I want them to know why

life is getting so good at moment its scarey. But i do miss some of my close friends who have just disappeared. Sometimes I crave for them but i know there is not much i can do. What do you feel about past friends.

not many of you know me on here. left 2 years ago and surf nearly every night. i was an elder for 11 years did circuit assembly items etc. in fact i did everything the society said. my wife left three years ago and we nearly split up horrendous rows etc. After reading crisis of conscience, freedom, gentile times etc i left in great trauma but hten felt i had wasted my entire life. i was one of those who went to every meeting even if i was dying. i felt i had wated my entire life. do any of you still feel that. i am 44 and was born into jw and left at 42.

i still feel a spiritual need in the way that i do beleive there is a creator and after having done a lot of research on bible arecheaology i beleive the bible is correct.
however we have been taught so much dogma amongst christianity have any of you got to the point yet of going to any other religious meeting.

it was after reading crisis of conscience that i was brave enough to leave although i had serious doubts before i was always scared in case it was right!!
and i was wrong.. however when they changed the generation in 1995 that caused me great trauma as i had accepted that as absolute fact and based my life on it.

Hello this is my first topic on this forum.
I left the JWs 18 months ago and am still recovering.
It was after reading Crisis of Conscience that I was brave enough to leave although I had serious doubts before i was always scared in case it was right!! and I was wrong.
However when they changed the generation in 1995 that caused me great trauma as i had accepted that as absolute fact and based my life on it. I even refused a compamy pension as I felt it was impossible to reach that age before Armaggedon.
I am very interested in knowing how this change affected any of you who were still Witnesses when this was changed.

That is entirely true
i beleived everything they said. Didnt plan a pension as i could never get that old then they changed it and said they had clarified the understanding. They didnt even apologise. That was the start of my journey out but it took 7 years.
