Ex-JW convention visit ended violently
by observer inex-jws in finland have every year arranged demonstration during district convention in helsinki since 1999. sometimes one or more apostates have peacefully visited in the rented icehall which is the convention place across the street from demonstration place.
in summer 2004 jw's ordered doorkeepers who work there by the owner of the icehall, to bring out one very widely known apostate from the audience in the middle of program.
attendants said he took photos and videotaped, which he really did without any disturbance, which they claimed was forbidden and wanted to remove him from the hall.

Ex-JWs in Finland have every year arranged demonstration during district convention in Helsinki since 1999.
They also forbidded attending of several other apostates which came from the demostration place across the street. Previously attenting apostates were allowed but they were constantly followed by attendants who were ordered to do so. In 2004 shadowing of apostates in the hall was very intense.
He was beaten outside of the convention hall by the doorkeepers, police was called and criminal investigation was started. Finnish police decided later, that removing him from the hall and refusal of letting several other apostates into hall was right thing to do althought the Finnish law says everyone has right to attend public meetings like convention held in rented hall is.
Humoristically constructed video which is called "Dooms Day" (Dooms Day for Apostates) about this quite serious event is available here (lenght 5 min., finnish text).

Yes it is. WTS is Non Governmental Organization, with or without association with UN. -

HAW...KEE...HAW....KEE Anyone else here a hockey fan?
by jgnat ini live in a sports city where hockey is the national sport.
being an oil town, we've experienced the flush of success and the misery of defeat.
we haven't seen the stanley cup since our heyday in 1990. we're so game-crazy, the city's motto is, "city of champions.".

This is sad for Teemu Selänne. This season clearly was his best for years and now this disappoinment. Not to mention losing Olympic gold in final against Sweden at Torino.

And you must admit, there is something very familiar with the words...
All we need is lightning
With power and might
Striking down the prophets of false
.....
The true believers
Thou shall be saved
Brothers and sisters keep strong in the faith
Hard Rock Hallelujah!

WT only complete Finnish bible?
by Dogpatch inin the awake!
of jan. 2006, page 23 it apparently (i don't have the mag) states that the watchtower's new world translation is the only complete finnish bible.
could this possibly be true that after all these years there are no others in finnish?

Most homes?? That is a big lie! Theocratic warfare, I guess. -

Definitely not true. However, could you provide exact quote from WT? I'd guess maybe they mean that NWT is the only Bible which uses name "Jehova" as name of God or something.

by blindersoff inwhile talking with my mother about why i gave no thought to my future employment as a young man, i mentioned the 69 awake article that assured young folks that they would not grow old in this system.
