Ubruce, It brings me great ECSTASY to hug my grandchildren. Personally, my mom never even ONCE hugged me, so, I'm making up for my mom while I'm at it.

isn't it amazing that geoge carlin - iconoclastic and mouthy comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent ... and so very appropriate post 9-11. .

i mean, i don't know about you, but i remember countless times that situations would develop involving young to old men alike, where me and other non-dub-raised "dudes", would comment that.... what that guy (bro) needs is a good ass-kicking!
i mean a good old fashioned beat your ass whoopin... i mean learn some real "humility" at the hands of your "friends".

U/D, one of my lucks has been growing up with rough and tough people. My older brother was a professional boxer and we stayed in shape.
I agree with being peaceful with people, but, when they go BEYOND the limits, enough is enough. Even the scriptures says, "If possible, as far as it depends upon YOU, be peaceable with all men." Romans 12:18 Notice, "If possible?"
I would love to have seen Jesus in action turning over tables and whipping the boys! Do you think he worked up a sweat?

I guess if you were confined for over two decades, you'd come up with such a quote.
Yes, why are we afraid to ask directions, why are we afraid to say thank you, why are we afraid to express and show compassion, why are we afraid to to help and assist others, are we afraid of ourselves? Hmmmmm, how much light do we give off?

FORWARD
George Carlin (His wife recently died...)
Isn't it amazing that Geoge Carlin - iconoclastic and mouthy comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent ... and so very appropriate post 9-11.
"The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more convenience, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.
We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our pssessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.
We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.
These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier house, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.
It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or just hit delete.
Remember, spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person will grow up and leave your side.
Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it didn't cost a cent. Remember, to say, " I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.
Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be ther again. Give time to love, give time to speak, and give them time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
If you don't send this to at least 8 people .... who cares?
George Carlin.
So true !!!!
I've repeated the story of my granddaughter not being shown love by her mother and over the past 4-5 years I made it a practice to hug her every time we see each other, WHAT A CHANGE! This idea of holding hands and kissing your mate periodically is a spiritual uplift.

I remember giving my pioneer partner a lesson. He lied behind my back just to be a study conductor. I changed the contour of his face. The next day the CO said, "What you did was not right, but, HE DESERVED IT!" Never had any problems after.

Vigil for my daughter, please.
by outnfree inas mentioned in my other thread, my daughter lena is having brainsurgery on monday, jan 24. the surgery will last 6-7 hours, so i'm hoping the board members will be willing to make a special effort tomorrow to send positive thoughts, healing energy, good wishes and prayers her way.
we are asking that the surgeon's hands be delicate and skillful and that lena does not bleed overmuch and that brain damage be minimal (if not non-existant).
surgery begins at 8 am eastern standard time (us), but we have to have her to the hospital by 6 am, so this is "good night!

I was Molested by my CO grandfather
by AshtonCA ini was molested by my grandfather from the age of 3 to 7. he was also molesting his daughter (my aunt) and maybe others.
it was covered over and my entire family was actually shunned when we went to the elders when i was 18. i did not tell anyone about it until then because my grandfather had me believing our relationship was special and it was our little secret.. when confronted, he of course denied it.
my mother even spoke up of a time when he had tried to molest her when she was 8 months pregnant with one of my brothers.

Greetings. Your story only solidify's what others have gone through and how negligent the mother like org has shirked her responsibility. You have been victimized a few times over.
Yes, have you been to the Silentlambs site? There are other sites that you may care to view.
Accept my sympathy and understanding.
