for me it's the use of : .
it's as a possessive - it's means "it is", so if you don't want to say "it is" don't use the apostrophe.
there are others that bug me but this one is the worst.

a new girl was hired at my job, and within 4 days it came out that she was a jehovah's witness.
amazing how you could go years without knowing another coworker's religion, but we all had to know about this girl within 4 days.
they had an assembly this weekend, and of course, we all knew exactly why she was taking the day off.
With all the new things happening to her, it would difficult to burst her 'bubble.' Patience and time, make them work for you.

under soviet communism, the nation was ruled by a small group of elderly men, the politboro.
in the watchtower, the organization is ruled by a small group of elderly men, the governing body.
under communism, young people are encouraged to join the "red pioneers".
Uncanny similarities. Are they wearing the shoe that fits?

Bitter you ask? Nah, I've got more important and fun things to do than reflect on what I did in the org. I put my positive energy to good use.

the many posts about disfellowshipping prompted to throw in my 2 cents.
what is the real truth behind disfellowshipping?
my present thinking is this, over the years, jw's have been indoctrinated to avoid 'independent' thinking.
Yes, Panda that's what I meant. I agree that back in the 50's, 'if' exjw's knew what they know today, there would have been plenty of lawsuits. The question of baptism today is worded in such a way that one cannot sue the org., very clever don't you think?
They have made emotional 'cripples' out of their followers.

Panda, my question was, "is it a communist front?" Yes, most, if not all cultures do have a system of punishment. My thoughts center of quick or snap of the finger disfellowshipping. In one hand they quickly disfellowship anyone asking questions, yet, keep the pedophiles safe. Something is not kosher here.
About Communism. Myron C. Fagan has written, directed, and produced...Dramas, Comedies, Mysteries, Allegories on Broadway. With the aid of certain Congressmen, he exposed communism in Hollywood and government. He had written two plays about communism, one play was titled, "Red Treason in Hollywood." He has documented proof who these communist are and he cites 300 names in his book. If this were not true, they would have sued his pants off, but nobody has.

JWbot, did you ever read, "The 10 planks of the Communist Manifesto (1848) by Karl Marx?"
Http://www-self.USC.edu/~tannenba/history.htm I hope this cite works.
communism 1."a philosophy or system, derived from Marxism, advocating state owbership of land and property, postulating class conflict,... 2 "a political, social and economic system in which the state, governed by an 'elite' party, controls production, labor and distribution, and, largely, the social and cultural life and thought of the people: Communism is expressed in various movements,, but Russian sovietism is often referred to as a fair sample. In Communism ownership and control of everything would be in the hands of a 'small' group presumably representing the common people (Emory S. Borgarddus)
Communism and Socialism are systems of social organization under which the means of production and distribution of goods are transferred from private hands to the government. The classic difference between the two systems lies in the different means they take to establish themselves: communism emphasizes the impracticability of replacing the existing social order by any means other than armed force or outside intervention; the advocates of socialism seek to establish it by peaceful means, through legislation rather than force. The World Book Dictionary.

yet another flood question.
jesus and peter used the story of flood to illustrate how god will destroy hundreds of millions of evil people again.
(let's assume they really said/wrote the things recorded in 2 peter 2:5 and mathew 24:38).. however, just after the flood god promised: .
Poe, you say more evil people if he was to just move away? What do you think his son did to him to deserve a curse, shake hands?

Yes Dan, I brought this to the attention of the GB in my last letter. I even quoted from their publication about this man been reinstated shortly thereafter. I also quoted 2Cor.2:6, "This rebuke given by the MAJORITY is sufficent for such a man, so that...you should kindly forgive and comfort him..." It was the 'majority' of the congregation that expelled him and it was the majority that would reinstate him!
What about the incident with Paul & King Agrippa at Acts chapter twenty-six? I mean, what did King Agrippa know about "doing works that befit repentance?" Paul was speaking to an unbeliever not to a body of fellow Christians about the criteria of reinstating a disfellowshipped person! What the hell did King Agrippa know about disfellowshipping?
The Society has used this scripture as a measuring stick to reinstate disfellowshiped persons, you'll never find what Paul said to Agrippa to the Christian congregations.
My last letter was over 20 pages in length and I never got an answer, even a comforting word. I got expelled for what an elder thought about me. In other words, a mind reading elder knew me better than I know myself. The end result from his personal viewpoint sent lights flashing in my head. The game was over for me. It was a blessing in disguise.
My question in asking is, is there an evil controlling element behind this policy? How many friends got expelled for no scriptural reasons whatsoever? OK, enough air talk.
